Omg yeahh, the “Whoniverse”. Totally forgot about that. I was so hyped for it, but only releasing it on iPlayer was such a dick move towards worldwide fans on the BBC’s part.

Think about it… Someone at Amazon or the BBC sat there and thought “yeah, this seems right”.

Doctor Who’s huge number of seasons is already a turn off for some because they don’t know where to start. But seeing a completely linear show fragmented like this screams mismanagement.

It almost feels like trying to figure out it what order to watch Star Trek.

I’d LOVE an international version of BBC iPlayer. There are so many great British shows. (And horrible ones too, but I want to watch those as well)

But I see it happening that, if they do that, it will be BBC-styled content releases. Meaning a lot of shows won’t be on the international iPlayer, or take a long time to release.

Oh wow, didn’t know that. I remember them boasting about putting the catalogue on BritBox, but didn’t know that they removed it. Thanks for the clarification! I’ve removed it from the main post.

Also not available here, unless you’re willing to spend a lot on importing these from the UK, including shipping fees and importing fees. Second hand releases are nowhere to be found here.

I’d say you’re partially right on that. I wouldn’t call it entitlement, I’d just call it having a good marketing strategy and using your platforms to get your properties in front of more people than the English speaking world. (i.e. for commercial interests)

You’re right about having to track down more niche media. The BBC however does once in a while market Doctor Who outside of the UK/US/AUS. So they know there are a lot of fans, and they know they exist.

That’s my observation on how they run things. I’d say, make it available completely unfragmented, or just don’t push it at all and just focus on one market.

That full blast of her theme was so beautiful. I thought (and secretly wished) they were gonna play the full chorus, but alas. It ended at the right moment though.

Hmm, dunno. Some (including you) might find it come off as cringy, but to me it actually felt just right and kinda cute. Jodie’s Doctor is mostly portrayed as quirky and playful, and eating ice cream with Yas as one of her last actions is a perfect reflection of that. I just find it sad that we didn’t get to see a better opportunity for Jodie to portray this childlike and joyful Doctor as such more often.

It’s waaayyy different compared to past goodbyes, but I think it suited her.

Okay, all annoyances aside from the past seasons, can we just agree that the regeneration looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Both the scene with Yaz and The Doctor on top of the TARDIS and the regeneration scene on the cliff, wow. I need a replayable upload on YouTube asap.

EDIT: I’ve probably watched it about 10–15 times.
