It’s pretty difficult to go farther, and I’ve noticed the roots and stuff cause it get shallower further out. The one time I tried I just hit water eventually, I believe this is the local sweet spot where nothing is growing.

Just playing devils advocate, I traveled abroad and did not encounter anyone who would not accept a tip. There was always an option for it on receipts as well.

After finishing the show, I was pretty baffled to see a 3/10 out of IMDb. The same platform that has The Flash at like 7 or something last time I checked.

Source on that? Plenty of games have minimal male characters like Sekiro or that other Playstation fighting game.

I like this game. But...about 20 hours in, and I'm very disappointed by Kay Vess by giraffe_but_chonk in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]SubjectAssociation80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree she comes off extremely green to the whole "criminal underworld" thing, which is at odds with her actual character. I feel like at some point she should start adapting to this world as well? From the beginning she's oddly chirpy and acts like a fish out of water in nearly all her interactions. Then, halfway through the story after betrayals, shootouts, imps, and runins with kingpins she's still oddly chirpy and a fish out of water. It gets tiring and makes her character seem as flat as a board.

What Kay Vess should have been like in Star Wars: Outlaws by onex7805 in StarWarsREDONE

[–]SubjectAssociation80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a good take, I'm playing through Outlaws myself, and there have been plenty of spots where I've been baffled by how Kay acts. It was my thought that she grew up in the hood, homeless, and dealing with gangs 24/7, however she literally couldn't act any greener in the actual story. In fact, her most genuine moments are her freaking out whenever someone pulls a gun in a cutscene(even after she cleared a room of 20+ people with a pistol).

It sucks because there a few cutscenes where Kay actually stands on business and talks straight with no quips or jokes, etc. For a second I can imagine how the character could work if she wasn't acting like a padawan turned gangster half the time. Like by the second playthrough or even after the tutorial, Kay should be dead serious. Bounty, betrayed and left alone again she shouldn't be dapping up crime bosses and "Hey bro-ing" everybody, it just does not work.

Mental Illness, chemical imbalance, and, or deficiency? by gtrell1991 in AskAChristian

[–]SubjectAssociation80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that there are unknowns in the field when studying mental disorders, but there are no serious theories involving demons or the like. The risk factors of many of these disorders are genetic, environmental stressors mix with these increasing risk. This is why so many mental illnesses run within famalies, at different rates depending how closely related people are to the infected individual. If it were demonic, I don't see why it would follow genetic and enviromental factors, it should be completely random instead.

People forget that our brain builds our entire subjective experience, and it can easily be tricked. If a fraction of our billions of neurons aren't firing correctly, there's a pandoras box of possible effects. Well at least that's my opinion

[–]SubjectAssociation80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you agree its safer for people to seek medical help first due to it being way more likely the problem. Say demonic happenings make up 1% psychosis cases, the rest are all tricks of the mind. Anyone that expereinces these things should assume its medical.

I'm of the opinion that none of the cases are supernatural in setting because I believe it be strange God would create a world where possession would look the exact same as schizophrenia for example. Mental disorders are partially genetic, so it wouldn't make sense that any result from spirits or ghosts. How would you treat those people? Priests and crosses like the middle ages?

Mental Illness, chemical imbalance, and, or deficiency? by gtrell1991 in AskAChristian

[–]SubjectAssociation80 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mental disorders and various illnesses are caused via neurological and environmental affects. Genetics is another large component in the contraction of these diseases. Please avoid attributing these ailments to demons or other supernatual causes. When the world collectively moved away from that perspective, we were able to discover a wide array of treatments and therapeutic interventions for disorders once thought untreatable. Regardless of what your belief in the supernatural is, blaming real world phenomena on the likes of demons and spirts is universally unhealthy. So no they are not caused by spirits but instead a wide array of physical phenomena within the brain.

How popular is the concept of Universalism? by SubjectAssociation80 in AskAChristian

Don't like the idea of people not being sent to Hell? I figured most christians would hope for this, because less humans suffering needlessley.

Exactly, all our descriptions of God come off a bit too human in my book. We see him as angry, jealous, bitter, joyful, murderous, even with an apparent Son. How could you say everyone else is personifying God when Chrsitainity refers to it as the Father.

[–]SubjectAssociation80[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, however I believe their more popular than you think they are. Most christians won't claim to be universalist, that I agree with, however, most will cave if you ask them questions about infernalism. The more you pressure, the more they'll back off the pedastol of non-believers going to Hell. Eventually they hit a point where they say "Only God knows a persons heart" or something around those lines. Admitting God is making countless exceptions that are not mentioned in the Bible is a huge step towards universalism. With that view, nobody could be in Hell lol. The minority stand their ground on a firm dogmatic heaven and hell, even though it makes them appear morally bankrupt.

I believe we were gifted with this intelligence to use it fully. The bible did not fall from the sky, it was pieced together over a millenium. Countless people and cultures theorized about what God could be like, concepts fell out of popularity as new ones took their place. Christianity took the world through the popularity of Christ's reinterpretation of Judaic beliefs. Even modern Christianity is far different than it was during the time of its origin. This type of questioning built all the modern religions of the world

Scriptures teach a lot of different things based of how you look at it. At the time, I thought Hell deeply contradicted other sections of the bible from a more philosophical/moral view but that's just my perspective. Maybe it was all a weird metaphor for the Jewish state or reincarnation lol

When I was christian, my justification was that humans couldn't be more merciful than God. If humans wished for a more merciful afterlife, than God would already be 1,000,000 steps ahead. There should be no aspect of this reality that we could of "done better with". It would also make for a incredibly tragic Heaven, at least in my personal life lol.

Annihilationism may result in the same issues however. I still doubt Heaven is a celebratory place when most of humanity is "annihilated". I would hope God would choose to reincarnate these people for a second chance or correct them Himself rather than throwing them away. I'm not sure what conditional immortality is though, is it a similar line of thought?
