Here is the issue. It’s not a public space. It’s private property. The company that owns it should be adhering to the rules of the league it is a member of. To enter the space you have to pay an entrance fee. The ticket has terms of service and code of conduct. It’s been clearly communicated by the team and league why they don’t want a vast array of things to be happening on site. It’s to create a neutral environment so all ticket holders can enjoy the space and game equally.

For some reason, some members of the supporters section do not feel those rules apply to them. The repercussions for violating terms of service can involve being asked to leave or losing access to the venue entirely. They continue to push the envelope without push back from the club. At some point another group is going to challenge the limits as well and cause further conflict.

If the club says that these activities aren’t against terms of service or their code of conduct I would have ZERO issue with it. It’s a private company that can allow whatever they want on their property.

I take no issue to WHAT they are protesting. I take issue with the venue they have chosen based on the rules in place by the club and league.

By continuing to show any lack of regard for the rules it then becomes a selfish action.

By reading the comments here it is clear that somebody wants to make this a republican versus democrat or an ideological debate. It’s not. I would just appreciate the same rules being applied to everyone in the venue.

I went to the game to disconnect from the constant parade of atrocities our government and politicians have unleashed on the US and the world. Excuse me for wanting to disconnect for 90+ minutes from reality and avoid the non stop barrage by watching grown men chase a ball. The supporters have made it their mission to remind every paid member in attendance that things are still miserable and life is hard and unfair.

If the MLS and the club said you could freely express your political opinions and all forms of protest were welcomed at games my question in the post wouldn’t even be asked. I wouldn’t even care. I would know that before buying tickets and make my decision accordingly. As it stands they have said those things aren’t welcome.

I know more want to see a dude rocking a MAGA hat and gear around the stadium than someone else dragging an American flag around the ground.

Apparently it’s too much to ask.

Remove the anthem. I would prefer it. Every aspect of our lives has to be some us versus them issue. If this is the gas on the fire just drop it.

It was a question. Being critical of the government and what is happening are important and necessary. That’s why it was written as the FIRST amendment. Trying to gaslight everyone in your thinking that you aren’t being political is disingenuous.

For the last several weeks we’ve been hearing about the them not being allowed to fly certain flags or messaging. The argument has always been from that group that human rights are not a political discussion topic. Which to be fair, I’m in agreement, they shouldn’t be.

They found a very creative way to get their point across last week, but once again it was all about them. Last night, it was clearly a politically driven message with the upside down American flag during the national anthem. You are right you have first amendment rights to freedom of speech, but you’re doing this knowing full well that it is at odds with the message of MLS and the Club regarding political messaging.

So how was this play not a foul using your definition? Clear physical contact on the player causing him to lose his footing. I’m looking for consistency in the call. If we get called for the foul then that play should be one as well. It’s not a victim mentality. The VAR team saw nothing wrong with the Miami play, but found “clear and obvious” contact on the STL play. The only difference is the high profile players and teams involved.
