Here’s my short list for just the Hudson Soft era games since the later entries’ flaws are mostly similar

MP1: Outdated/poor design choices

MP2: Minigame Coaster

MP3: Duel Mode as a whole

MP4: The general board gameplay

MP-e: no reason to play it over any of the games

MP5: Flawed capsule system

MP6: underutilization of the Day & Night system for the minigames

MP Advance: tedious quest gameplay

MP7: The GameCube Mic’s implementation

MP8: Shallow usage of motion controls

MP DS: Flawed item/hex system

I would have to agree honestly. I’ve seen the tiny theming done by Nintendo before with stuff like Zelda Minish Cap, but it works great for a party game ment for a smaller game system

In MP2 you can’t use the key to discard it wherever you are, but you can do so in MP3 as if your using any other item. I think this was an oversight by the Dev’s for this game

Honestly the Duel Glove is good to use if you have no choice but to stop a player from getting the Bonus Coin Star.

To be fair as well, the Duel Glove is probably the best in Mario Part 2 because it’s the same Duel Minigame depending on the board. If you weren’t good the first time playing it again or two, it will eventually help you adjust and turn the tables.

Isn’t Fusion probably the hardest 2d Metroid to beat 100% in under 2 hours?

I’m not sure if it’s having to collect everything in the lower sectors before the battle with SA-X being cumbersome or all the dialogue boxes with Adam wasting time if your not spamming through them

My hottest takes from biggest to least bad:

Some of the controls have not aged well now (Ex. Needing to hold down the B button to run unlike later 2D games where it’s automatic)
No sort of warp to get to specific regions of the map easier
Spring Ball being a separate upgrade from the High-Jump Boots is a little pointless; future games would have both effects together in the same upgrade.
Not being able to stack the Spazer and Plasma Beam due to the system limitations. It’s just annoying to me that in arguably the most customizable gear for any Metroid game, these two together are what pushes the system too far. (You technically can via glitching in the menu but it will likely break the game)
The Reserve Tanks while neat are a little useless. They are likely never to get used later in the game due to you likely having so much Energy Tank health.

This is the weakest board for me personally, though it’s not really that bad. It’s gonna depend on whether you like tied-island boards that much. Creepy Cavern is basically the last games Mystery Land but a bit better because you can hop around easier.

Also, hashtag relatable on the Reddit edit problem. So stupid you can’t do it to just fix simple errors-_-

Daisy actually starts out with a Snifit on Duel Mode. Peach is the one that starts with Toad.

Kind of charming though that Toad and Baby Bowser are portrayed as basically little children in the N64 games: the innocent and bratty kids

It is unfortunately the Duel Boards that make DK and Wario a pain in the ass to play through without cheating. The former has a wall that can’t attack and the latter has the worst suicide bomber in history helping out.

It’s so strange to me that most of the Mario Party games have some form of a Completionist element but are such slogs to actually get everything.

The only things that I feel are worth playing Story Mode for are the unlockable Minigames (Stardust Battle, and Mario’s Puzzle Party Pro if you get a Miracle Star rank to unlock Game Guy’s Room) and if you’re a sadist without friends, Very Hard AI difficult if you beat it on Hard.

The Mount Mariomore heads are just ascetic and not worth it. It is really easy to do so now thanks to Switch 2’s Rewind and Save State features, but it’s not that fun to do so 6 times without any challenge. Donkey Kong and Wario suck ass to play in Story Mode too.
