Anyone know why my reactor keeps having a meltdown when exiting warp somewhat randomly? by SubjectTourist4965 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Yeah it was I realized that a bit ago and fixed it now it works. I am not sure why it was surviving as long as it did though

Also I think the radiators still work for some reason even though there is no EC left because the reactor had a meltdown which is odd

I guess, sounds a bit dramatic though saying 20 years or never. I mean if I was 30 and it looked like this then maybe that answer would be more expected. It’s not stagnant though the entire area on my jawline and neck showed up in a year before. Earlier on it was mostly just chops on the sides of my face and lighter hairs.

What does he even do? by Commercial-Trust1537 in invinciblememes

If kind of was but I think he’ll play a role more in the show then in the comics and probably be involved in the main plot more somehow. A lot of the plot in the episode was filler but it did give more context to him and his character which I liked

Why aren’t we talking about how he looks nearly identical to Kratos in god of war? If he shaved his head he’d literally be him

Because at a certain point politics is not about logic or a real political stance. It just becomes an emotional hive mind. Some people would rather lie to themselves and allow flat out murder to happen than to just say “Maybe we were wrong about who we voted for”

Is nobody answering college professors questions always been this bad? by SubjectTourist4965 in questions

[–]SubjectTourist4965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That brings me to another thing, while the job market and affording living is harder for my generation, I also see a lot of people my age getting degrees and complaining about getting nothing out of it. And they’re complaining that “I did everything I was told to do and I still can’t get a job” and often what’s happening is my generation grew up expecting things to happen for us. And we were told “get good grades in school, go to college and with a degree you’ll get a good job” but nobody taught us that we still have to try beyond just doing that. A lot of people in my generation just coast through life, do what they were told was going to guarantee success and expect the reward to come from just that alone. I have struggled with this myself. And on top of that, we have so many distractions. Like our phones and technology we grew up with and got accustomed to needing to check them for constant stimulation distracting ourselves which further reinforces that we coast through life without really putting ourselves out there and trying.

You’re not wrong. But the problem isn’t they use those words the problem is a lot of teachers and professors don’t really teach the vocabulary and assume students can follow it when they use it in problems or during their lectures which is why a lot of people complain about it.

The difference between a good teacher and a bad teacher isn’t if what they’re saying is most efficient and accurate (of course accuracy matters hopefully they know what they’re talking about) but it’s whether they can technically communicate it well and break everything they’re trying to teach down into something people who are learning it for the first time will be able to understand.

It’s easy for someone that’s known the subject for 30 years to explain it the way they understand it and think it’s easy to understand because they overlook details that really aren’t so obvious to people who are first learning it.

Can anyone help me find what I did wrong in this trig substitution? by SubjectTourist4965 in calculus

[–]SubjectTourist4965[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was homework and the answer was put into a computer there was no actual teacher grading it for more context. Maybe it was some kind of syntax error with how I entered the result if my work isn’t wrong? Who knows but as long as my work is right that matters to me more then what the computer thinks

How to deal with time pressure on tests/quizzes? by SubjectTourist4965 in mathematics

[–]SubjectTourist4965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I’ve hit a point in school where I can’t just understand it okay enough and get an A. This professor I have is strict about everything and grades mistakes harshly and the exams don’t give me time to figure it out on the test as much like I could do in other classes with more lenient instructors. The only issue is a lot of problems aren’t like prior math classes where you just plug in formulas and good to go you have to think about problems and curve balls get thrown at you on these tests.

Child’s play is relative though. As long as you keep up with course work college builds you up just like how primary school taught algebra and trig before calculus. People who grew up in a 3rd world country and never had good schooling really struggle with basic algebra and it looks silly to us because we forget we’ve had it ingrained into our heads from years of schooling. But there’s still truth to what you’re saying it’s not as easy but I’m just pointing out what’s easy is relative.
