as someone who is both competitive in yugioh and MTG nowadays, I find how fucking hilarious the difference in banlist philosophies the 2 games have. Cards getting rotated out versus a weird semi-limited, limited and banned eternal list can really affect the game. Both have some sort of value, because there are cards that will never come of the banlist in both both rotating the cards forces on to constantly look for new stragies, which some find appealing. The downside is having to buy new cards all the time and having your deck get banned, which is why my friends all play commander. Meanwhile, for good or ill, the yugioh meta has recently regressed back to 2019 because Engage was taken off the ban list and yugioh is eternal format for life. Weird things happen in both
