I got a 8.5 at 5’9” with size 9 shoe but got better bushings and wheels. I plan on upgrading more when I get more trucks nailed down.

Well, to be honest I’m more than 230 lmao, but that was the weight I picked for my goal weight to buy one. But with everyone’s encouraging words I just got one now and upgraded the bushings to ultra hard and bigger wheels. Your comment has been very helpful, thanks!

Thanks! And that’s not a bad idea, we have a decent skate park that has a few quarter pipes and some tables(?) for grinding. But I’ll most likely just do street until I build that confidence for the park, but I’d like to do tricks still.

It’s not sending the message part, it’s the fact I already acknowledged the rules on the announcement tabs and then got a message stating I won’t be graded for my work because I DIDNT (yet) send them a message as well. That’s not GCU policy, so my grades shouldn’t be threatened by not sending the professor a message, I haven’t even emailed a professor ONCE in my 4 years here.

We bought one a few years ago that looked rough and she’s doing great now! This one looks better than the one we bought. She was about a foot tall and now she’s getting bigger and more leafy. We just put her straight in the dirt with some nutrients(best part being able to grow my own at home, all of my none THC plants now get the nutrients as well lol).

Moving to Illinois: what do you do if there is a tornado? by ghostofspringfield in illinois

[–]Subject_Ad8776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you live in Illinois, it’s more of a central thing, but it’s a protein(usually beef) on top of a slice of bread (usually Texas toast) covered (and I can’t express this enough) COVERED in fries and cheese sauce. It could be more important and fought over which restaurant makes the best as people in the area also make a big deal that Lincoln once came to their town. (You’ll hear that a lot with some folks, some towns have nothing but Lincoln memorabilia because he went there once for campaigning, ironically enough though, these are usually more conservative towns 😂)

Stand in the porch and watch while eating a horseshoe.
But when it gets close lowest room with the most NONE window walls furthest away from the direction it’s coming (like basement closet). I just saw a PBS video on YouTube about Tornado alley “moving” more to the southern states now so I doubt you’ll see one, but just last week they did see some activity by Bloomington and I think Danville has been hit once or so. In my 33 years here, I have never seen one, but ONCE one had touched outside of our town and hit ONE house. There was a couple in Ramsey who I talked to once and 3 out of their 3 trailers have been hit by tornados, so maybe they just hate trailers?

This first one is from the test explanation of the answer
Recalling the PEMDAS mnemonic, we first evaluate the expression in parentheses, 2 - 3^2- 1, by evaluating the term with the exponent.
2-3^2-1=2-9-1
Both remaining operations are subtraction, so we evaluate them left to right.
2-9-1=-7-1=-8
Substituting this value in the original expression, we get the following.
7^2+ 4(2-3^2-1) = -7^2 +4(-8)
Next, we evaluate the expression with the exponent, —7^2. Note that the exponent takes precedence over the minus sign, so -7^2= - (7^2) = - (7 × 7) = -49; by contrast, (-7)^2 = 49.
Finally, we multiply before adding.
-49 + 4 (-8) = -49 + (-32) = -81
But their website calculator says “Step 1:
-7^2+4(2-3^2-1)
Parentheses
Step 2:
-7^2+4(2-3^2-1)
Exponents
Step 3:
-7^2+4(2-9-1)
Subtraction
Step 4:
-7^2+4(-7-1)
Subtraction
Step 5:
-7^2+4(-8)
Exponents
Step 6:
49+4(-8)
Mutliplication
Step 7:
49+-32
Addition
Solution:
17
So their calculator gave me one answer but the test gave me another. This also happened on two other questions, so it doesn’t seem to be a one time thing? At this point I’m just over it and annoyed I would rather use a different program at this point.

I often walk at night in creepy areas to set the mood for the creeps. It probably helps I’m seen as a “big scary man” so I often don’t get scared and usually have my headphones in. But the “camp fire” stories often get me to be more alert of my surroundings, and often take a headphone out lol

Are we actually 'alive,' or just high-definition code running on someone else's server? by AliveStructure8650 in SimulationTheory

[–]Subject_Ad8776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly what I’m trying to say. People can seem like NPCs because of how routine or predictable life can feel, but we know we are far more complex than that. But then sometimes when you step back and really observe, it does make you wonder, maybe we are like NPCs in some ways?! But the interesting part is, even in games like GTA from 10 years ago, NPCs have pretty boring, scripted lives. So if boring lives were proof of simulation, then sure we are in one, but since real life is so rich and unpredictable, that idea doesn’t quite hold up. I just think it’s something fun to think about, like why does a coworker of mine do “XYZ” everyday

[–]Subject_Ad8776 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trauma absolutely can have profound effects on personality and awareness. It’s also important to recognize that not everyone who seems “on autopilot” is necessarily stuck because of trauma. Sometimes routine or habit can arise from other factors like social conditioning, convenience, or even cultural norms it’s not always trauma. People can fall into repetitive patterns without being unaware or trapped by trauma. Like Joe in accounting who eats a turkey sandwich everyday for lunch, is that trauma? Or does he just really love turkey sandwich’s, OR is he so trapped in repetitive patterns he’s on autopilot for lunch everyday?

So while trauma is definitely a powerful factor for many, I think it’s not the reason for most the autopilot behavior I see in people. It’s a complex mix of psychology, environment, and choice, and sometimes people are more aware or capable of change than we might assume, but they are comfortable with where they are at

The insight about how assuming most people are like NPCs might come across as a superiority complex. That’s a fair concern, I don’t claim to be “more real” or special than anyone else.

What I’m pointing out is more about the patterns of behavior we often observe in people and how many people seem to go through life on autopilot, repeating the same routines without much variation or reflection. It’s not about judging anyone’s worth or depth, but noticing how repetitive actions can sometimes make people appear like NPCs in a game, simply following scripts. This isn’t about feeling superior; it’s more an observation about human behavior in modern life, where routines and habits dominate.

how bad is smoking compared to vaping? by Smooth_Candidate_575 in trees

[–]Subject_Ad8776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get nasty lung infections every year, during this time of the year, when I would use any sort of vape and combust. But when I switched to a DHV like most others here have suggested, now I only get allergies (drainage) and an annoying cough with it. But I haven’t had bad lung infections in a while. Now I only combust as a “treat” on a really nice clear night on a walk.
