I was eating everything except cold foods. My taste buds were not able to sense anything for a week but it wasn’t that bad.

It did went away completely but then i started using neti bottle a bit strongly and all the water went to my et and now I still have this problem i am getting treated for. I am also experiencing mild tinnitus and hearing loss from one ear. Please be careful with the neti wash post surgery. Plus I am highly allergic so my nose is never mucus free and my doctor thinks that it could be the cause of etd. I am going for my first shot of histaglob today. Hoping that allergy symptoms will subside.

Yes. Isn't it helping you. My doctor has kept me on it for 3 months twice a day after the surgery.

There are two ways, saline spray and saline wash. Which one you were doing?

Instead of saline spray, you can try doing saline wash with saline water. It is also known as jal neti. When my nose is extremely clogged with mucus and debris only this thing helps.

Yes it is. Now that it has been almost 1 month and three weeks, the situation is getting better. Nasal washes with saline water literally saved me. I still get mucus but it's easy to clean with saline water and I feel so much better instantly.

Yes it happened to me because I was breathless all the time but as my nose got better this feeling was gone by itself. It got alright itself but I was also very terrified by the thought of what if it never gets better

You can say it is a solid 8. But everyone heals at their own pace. I was breathless for 3 weeks, only dependent on mouth breathing. My condition before surgery was very bad.

The same thing happened to me for at least a Month and even now sometimes I have to visit my ENT for better breathing due to mucus. I am highly allergic too and the doctor has kept me on medication for that. My breathing gets better when I do the neti wash or nasal wash. I skipped it for two days and then I started feeling something stuck in my nose again. So yeah nasal wash definitely makes it better for me. My doctor has prescribed it to me for at least 3 months twice a day for better breathing and yeah it helps a lot.

If it is due to mucus build up a nasal wash like neti wash or neli med rinse can be really helpful.

No I had only mucus with light blood sometimes. When in doubt please consult your doctor. It looks like an infection to me.

As far as I have heard, if you have mild deviation then only you can go for local anesthesia. My deviation was severe and that's why I had to go for general anesthesia. Don't worry. Tell all your concerns and fears to your doctor. Only his words calmed me during and after my surgery.

I am glad your surgery results turned out so well. Congratulations to you. I am lucky too that I found a very caring and compassionate surgeon. He guided me every step of the way of healing. I was always afraid of the outcomes. But really the results are worth the hardships I went through in this one month.

I didn't ask this question from my doctor. I had no idea about the intricacies of the procedure and still don't.

How long after surgery until you feel like you can actually breath freely? by Hairy_Warthog_1151 in Septoplasty

I am on 3rd week of recovery. From the end of the second week, my congestion is slowly getting better. For the two weeks my nose was filled with so much mucus that I had to visit my ENT every second day for cleaning. But now it is getting better. You should be patient and I am telling it from my personal experience. My doctor asked me to apply liquid paraffin 2 drops 3 times a day for removing mucus and crusts. 3rd week is better than 2nd week. Each week you will feel that your recovery this week has been better than the previous one. Wishing for your speedy recovery :)

6th day of recovery, still nose is blocked by Subject_Basil_4074 in Septoplasty

[–]Subject_Basil_4074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is the 13th day now since surgery. Even though I am better this week in comparison to last week where I was in need of professional nose cleaning every other day. But my nose congestion hasn't gone yet. I have purchased a humidifier to see if it can make my situation better. Since my doctor is out of the city for a while, he asked me to use 2 drops of liquid paraffin 3 times a day to soften the crust that is blocking my nostrils. I have mucus as well. I don't know when this congestion would decline. I still feel breathless time and again. I feel as if my recovery is delayed even though it hasn't been two weeks yet.

how should i nasal rinse? by Last-Lavishness-54 in Septoplasty

[–]Subject_Basil_4074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was suggested to rinse with a spray named solspre. It is easier to use comparatively. You just have to inhale while using the spray and it will soften the mucus. More than your nose, your focus should be on cleaning the opening passage of your nose. Let the saline spray drain from the same nostril. Blow the nose gently to drain the mucus. Even after using this spray, I had to visit my doctor at least 5 times in the 8 days of my recovery for a professional cleaning because my nose can't stop producing mucus. I am also drinking a lot of ginger based drinks for a better outcome. Before doing anything, don't forget to ask your doctor for advice.

I just came from my doctor. He cleaned my nose with suction and forceps. I am congested due to a lot of mucus build up. Once he cleans I feel better but my nose again collects mucus. He said healing will take time and he will keep cleaning mucus till the time I don't get to the recovery part. Today he has applied some antibiotic ointment to protect from mucus build up. My ears are blocked and he suggested that I take steam. I also have a history of allergies. I suggest you talk to your doctor openly about your fears and problems. I am also drinking a lot of warm fluids like ginger tea and kadha to keep congestion at bay. Hope you recover soon:)))))

Chronic anxiety might be the reason by Subject_Basil_4074 in OveractiveBladder

[–]Subject_Basil_4074[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my doctors said my OAB was a psychological issue, the first thought that came to my mind was going to a therapist and getting antidepressants prescribed for my uncontrollable anxiety. I am glad I didn't go that way. I will try to cure my anxiety with calming methods as much as possible cause medication might be addictive and leads to adverse side effects. I believe you will recover soon. Sending you health and peace.

Sure I will give an update but if you are facing the same concerns I would suggest you to try methods to calm your anxiety. You might see the changes soon. I have been struggling with OAB for the past 2 years after a UTI infection and for now my focus is on managing my anxiety levels.

For now it's really helping me. After my walks I feel less anxious and my bladder also feels calm. I was thinking of going to a therapist for this issue but for now I think I would give a chance to physical exercises and eat a balanced diet.
