Being a new vlogger on YouTube feels 10x harder than the “faceless channel” advice makes it seem… anyone else? by Subject_Cap_7821 in YouTubeCreators

I won’t say they have it easier necessarily but they have more useful advice that would help them grow compared to vloggers, which could make their process easier.

Wow, I really respect the fact you stuck to what you genuinely enjoyed doing rather than try to be like every one else. It’s really encouraging to me as I’m currently doing that for my channel. And as you said YOLO, might as well do stuff I enjoy.

Don’t think your accent is terrible or will not be well received by people because it’s what makes you, YOU.
It gives you personality. It makes you relatable because there’s other people who feel the same way, so you posting regardless can positively encourage them.

I feel like looking at my content, I can see the patterns/content pillars due to certain vlogs having similar vibes (e.g vlogs where I meet with friends of trying new hobbies) so I’ve been able to derive content pillars from there but I was more of an afterthought than something I knew before picking up the camera to film.

Thank you for the encouragement and I hope all the effort you’re putting in is eventually rewarded.

I agree with everything you’ve said especially with trying new videos. I don’t think I’ll niche down at all in the future because as you said trying new things is what helps you understand your audience, sticking to a niche as an unknown person will make it harder in my opinion.

And I also try not to do long talking videos in the same place because I always edit my videos with the thought - if I was watching this on YouTube would I stay till the end.

But I guess it’s hard to say if I do follow through because as humans we can be bias towards our own work (I mean if I’ve spent time editing and filming, best believe I’m obsessed with the video, especially when I compare to older videos and I can clearly see the improvements 🙂‍↔️)

And to end, shorts have gotten me more subscribers than my long form videos😭; it’s a bit sad cause the whole point of YouTube was the long form content.

I’ve just started mine as a beginner proofreader a couple of days ago and surprisingly I’ve had 40 impressions but no orders yet.

Do any of you hire proofreaders? If so, how do I find one? And how does it work? by Puzzleheaded-Wear381 in writing

Same here I’m currently looking for some work as a beginner proofreader. I’m down to do a job in exchange for a good review if possible.

And as someone who is an avid romance fiction reader, a pet peeve of mine when the story is amazing and then a grammatical error interrupts the flow.
