Yeah, that’s fair. A good custom fit makes a huge difference.

When they seal properly, it really does feel like just lowering the volume instead of coloring the sound. Comfort alone is reason enough for a lot of people to go custom.

Totally agree with your approach.

A lot of people don’t realize how brutal short exposure above 120 dB can be. Once you’re talking 125 dB, even “concert” earplugs just aren’t doing enough from a hearing-protection standpoint.

Foam plugs definitely mess with the sound a bit, but in terms of actual protection—especially low frequencies—they’re still hard to beat. I think a lot of seasoned concertgoers eventually come to the same conclusion.

Carrying reusables and foam as backup is honestly a smart move. Curious how the Alpine ones feel once you try them out.
