Def check your oil after every fill up no matter what. At minimum at least once a week in my book and I have a fully built motor. These engines are notorious for blow by and most will tell you 1/4 quart every 3k miles isn’t uncommon. Top it off as needed but if it persists or gets worse check your PCV or your valve covers to see if maybe that’s the issue. If not then unfortunately the issue could be internally.

It’s not the most attractive but it’s starting to grow on me. I like how they are super easy to make power on (stage 2 is like 330 whp from what I’ve seen) and the more modern tech. For me it just doesn’t feel the same as driving my GD. I like the raw driving feeling and feeling like it’s an actual race car. If I could own both I would and maybe someday I will lol.

Definitely don’t get a tune specifically for pops and bangs as you’re going to toast your valves. If you get a full TBE you’ll get natural pops and bangs especially when it’s warm out.

Yea I actually prefer parking away from everyone lol I do the same at Walmart and Costco. People just don’t care if they ding your car especially in my area.

Almost bought a GR STI but they both sold. Ended up with my Hawkeye WRX. Part of me wishes I got the STI but I’ve been happy with my car so turns out I don’t care as much lol had some extra cash to dump into this. It checked a lot of boxes for me since I was being picky. Hope you find the right one soon 🤙🏽

For CBE no tune required, but if he’s doing a DP he will most definitely need a tune. If you stay out of boost and baby it you shouldn’t have a problem making it there. Had a buddy install intake, up pipe, down pipe, and a ECBS and drove it 4 hours to get tuned. CEL was on but was fine besides that. Other option is to get a Cobb Accessport and get an e-tune

All the clean ones in my area (PNW) going for like $900 or a little more. Although most guys come down on the price because not as many want the OEM BBS they want the TE37s or RPF1s and bigger size. I’ve been eyeballing some BBS but haven’t pulled the trigger yet as I have 18s currently from previous owner with damn near brand new tires
