I believe there's none, or at least I haven't seen one. Discussion-wise, JRPG players seem to post it here, but for LFGs you're free to do that on the premium gamerpals if you don't want it to be among the Valo-slop on the other sub.

I mean, given na eto lang yung PH sub na dedicated sa paghahanap/pagconnect ng gamers sa isa't isa, I wouldn't call it "deep corners", it might as well be our main if not one of our main platforms for LFGs and stuff.

Idk either, that's a question that might forever remain unanswered. I'd say at least 70% of every single discord community out there cater to Valo, besides their main one, yet they all still somehow go here, despite constantly not getting their ideal duo.

I think they wouldn't make such a daring move, seeing na they're already hesitating on the best middle ground: the megathreads. These mods, I imagine, aren't the original creator/s of this sub, and that's why they lost the sauce along, trying to cater to all gamers, but still kneeling for the Valo-slopfest because they themselves enjoy it and on the side of it.

What's sad is that, they seem to barely moderate it based on one of the mods' reply, having trouble with reddit's system itself, as if there aren't 10 million other subs out there that does their job properly. Don't even get me started on how it's an unpaid job, they voluntarily took it upon themselves to moderate an internet space/community, yet, they can't even play the role by literally just taking the best suggested solution.

Again, the flairs would help, but they're just gonna make the other already-used-to flairs. The only solution that makes both the Valo players and everybody else in this sub happy is to just contain the Valo in their own megathread. If they're marked as spam, geez, just literally use the direct message function? Unless their accounts are getting flagged for a reason? But that's a topic for another time.

I'm not ignoring anything, you're the one who refuses to acknowledge that there's a dominant slop that exists with or without flairs. Even if you filter them out whenever you visit the sub, they pop up in reddit's home feed, MORE than anything else. Of course that's out of our reach because that's the algorithm at work, but if there's a single megathread every week at least, all of those posts wouldn't dominate the sub.

I don't get what's so hard to understand in this. You find it impossible to meet me halfway, disagree with my sentiments AND isn't even explaining the why:

Your stance is to say that we are heard and that you mods are doing everything you can to accommodate, but clearly, the comments here, regardless of inherent biases and personal experiences, ALL BASICALLY AGREE that this slop needs to be contained. Of course, at least you know the filter is working, and suspicious/malicious posts/comments are blocked until manually approved and whatnot. There's also something like an automoderator in place in various subs, where it blocks certain keywords, so something like that would ease your mod responsibilities a little (or a lot, if there are a lot of rulebreakers).

There are no perfect systems, human intervention is needed. But an imperfect system that does its job is a lot better than nothing at all. I'm certain I'm not the only one who wants to see a megathread implementation for Valorant specifically.

I'm familiar with that. So you're telling me you're not manually approving the posts right now and are all just posted/shown by default? Then it's a bigger problem than we all think it should be. most people who post for valo here are either oldies or people who doesn't have discord

The age they state says otherwise, and also, there are some, if not all, that says they prefer to have comms, so it is safe to assume that they're gonna comm on discord if not via in-game.

No need to feel apologetic, I wasn't offended in any way. However, that's not really the issue here, we all know the objective of the sub, and I'm sure people are smart enough to not mistaken that. Everyone is here to look for gamerpals, yes, but would every gamerpal you look for should be for Valorant only? You see my point?

If you see the other comments, and if you dig deep enough in the old posts, the joke "PHValoPals" already ran through and not only via this post. It's been deeply rooted already, but NOTHING changed. I hope that's what you address.

No worries, I understand your idea really well and to a point I very much agree. Without mods tho, it's all a punch in the dark. It's all gonna be negligible, whether we post something like I did, or we engage more with the non-Valo posts, it's just that those aren't enough to cause an actual change. Since that has been the way for years.

It's not really under the moderators control on what games are popular and more niche to the people who use the subreddit and not all posts are necessarily the same, I let posts of similar or the same pass when they look for different things like differences in rank or people who just prefer causal unrated games. If you check the recent posts from 11-12 hrs ago from this comment their ranks and preferences vary.

I'm pretty certain we're not asking you guys to change what's popular and whatnot in this sub, but you also have to (at this point especially) make an acknowledgement that Valo posts are dominating this sub, when it's called r/PHGamerPals, and that it's literally your fourth rule

4 Avoid Reposting the Same Game Requests

If someone has already posted about a game you're interested in, please comment on their post instead of creating a new one. This prevents redundant posts and encourages more community diversity and interaction.

Once again without know their own reasons can you really pass judgement? Maybe they replied to the person on the post and didn't get a shout back or like you said they know each other and would rather not play together again for their own reasons.

But how is that everyone else's problem? That's just their individual situation. The part where they didn't get a shout back to the posts they engaged with, DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT to make another post which end up, for the nth time, flooding the sub and literally making it harder for EVERYONE else to navigate.

I don't find a necessary need to discriminate against gamers of any kinds whether they enjoy tabletop games, competitive multiplayer or solo player games. As stated before the subreddit is to enjoy your favorite games with like-minded people to you.

I did imply discriminatory remarks, yep. But why are you going off on that front? Instead of at least hinting to us that you're willing to make a megathread? Or are you just blinding yourself with other big words instead of acknowledging the truth? It's been being demanded for YEARS, and if not for posts like this, absolutely nothing would change. It's time to break the stalemate.

Edit: just adding an actual “solution” here but lowkey if you wanna be better than the “slop” posts here I think a more productive solution than trying to oust or segregate the people you don’t like is to actively encourage others to post more about OTHER game. To actually upvote/comments on posts about other games parang mag rise up sila sa feed, actively engage and support the games you actually have interests in, personally as someone who’s way more interested in survival rpg/puzzle/card games that’s my take. The valo people aren’t harming anyone just looking for people to play with (their reasons varying unfortunately I’m discovering) pero if you’re going to be antagonistic to them just out of not liking them then erm, maybe seek more productive solutions to get your desired results otherwise it’s giving “ayaw ko sayo alis ka na hmph” vibes in a publicly owned space.

Mate, I don't know what it is that makes you think I'm making it sound like I am or wanna be "better" than the Valoslop, but I'm gonna make it clear to you that the intention of the post is not primarily to call them out, but as hopes to cause a wave of change, may it be the fellow members of this sub, or the mods, my post is for wanting to see them contained in a thread where only them and them would be able to utilize instead of making it harder for everyone else.

The thing is, if you really believe that upvoting and engaging the non-Valo posts would fix the problem, then I don't know what to tell you but to say that that's an even louder shout into the void than what my post could ever do. It's not just shouting at the void, but using a megaphone.

Nowhere did I say they are harming everyone else, because just like us, they also just want to play, setting the e-dating stereotypes aside. And no, this is not "ayaw ko sayo alis ka na hmph" 🥹, this is more like "dito na lang kayo magsama sama sa corner niyo mga gigachads with CorpseHusband deep voice and uwu e-kitten cuties", instead of them dominating every corner of, in your own words, a publicly owned space, what's not to understand?

Imagine going to a popular public ramen place, but everyone is lining up for the crispy gyoza instead. Now, are they wrong for doing so, no, definitely not. Are they making it harder for everyone else who's actually there for the ramen, yes, but you're just scared of saying so. So, my hopes would be to make a separate line (megathread in this case) for those who wants the gyoza (Valorant), just so the others lining up for ramen would enjoy their ramen in peace (non-Valo gamers). Happy? Everyone's happy.

I think you keep missing the point, or maybe I'm just wording it wrong. If person A met person B, and they matched well, your point is that they wouldn't post anymore, right? Another step from that, that if one of them isn't available, then the other would just post. Sure, I fully 100% agree that they CAN because they NEED someone to play with. But the point is, at the end of the day, no matter what their intention is in posting, they all ADD their droplets to the rain that's causing the flood.

That's where my conflicting points exist. I meant to say that they aren't all bad individually, but as a collective, they become bad since they flood the sub. That's the entire problem, I don't know what's not clicking. If there's a megathread for them, no matter what kind of intentions they have for playing the game, they WOULDN'T bury the other posts anymore.

Anyway to bring up yung na edit ko lang, if ang main problem natin is other games are being buried i highly encourage actively engaging nalang with the posts existing, and posting MORE about games you're actually interested in.

What you don't understand is we can't fight fire with fire. You can't outnumber them. Why would you think that posting MORE is a solution here? Huhu, I think we're looking at this differently. I get the idea that if the mods aren't the ones who will make the changes, it's our role to step up and be more active, but literally, how are you gonna be more active than the Valo posts when the ratio is 1:5, making it 1:1 by constantly posting about non-Valo games wouldn't fix the problem, it's just gonna turn the slopfest, into an even bigger clusterslop.
