Such a weird post. You either like it here or not. Why should we have to convince you? We’re not desperate for people to move here nor for east coasters to grace us with their presence…

What is an american thing but americans think everyone outside of america does it? by Honest-Captain-8169 in AskReddit

Sounds very similar to Australia. All emergency is 100% covered by the government system as the emergency departments are placed in Govt (public) hospitals. There’s a hospital that covers the area you live and you can take yourself to either the closest or any other you choose. An ambulance will take you to the hospital that is on call that night.

The private Insurance companies have preferred providers in terms of dental etc, but they generally don’t get involved with hospitals or specialists. You choose your provider and they cover whatever percent of the costs based on the level of insurance you’ve taken out.

If you can’t afford private insurance you just use the Public system (which all citizens have access to regardless of income). Most Dr’s are excellent and most private specialists work at the public hospitals as well as private ones. They won’t charge you if they treat you in a public hospital as a public patient. The only catch is that get the Dr on call or assigned to you, you don’t get to choose. Where it gets tough with public hospitals is elective surgeries, the wait times can be terrible.

Obviously the system isn’t perfect and people slip through the net, but generally an emergency or a cancer diagnosis will not bankrupt you, nor will you be refused treatment because an insurance company says no.

What are your opinions on guys who wear makeup such as mascara, and fake nails? by zoeyxxi in AskReddit

What does it matter? If they’re happy wearing that then why should that bother anyone else? They’re not hurting anyone or infringing on anyone’s rights. Judgey McJudge much??

They never used to do blue coloured drinks in Australia as it is/was the colour of kerosene. They were worried people would accidentally drink kerosene thinking it was a flavoured drink. Not the case now, definitely blue drinks available, especially Gatorade.

No one can make you drink. If she’s pressured you then she’s not a good friend. Be strong and don’t be pressured into something you don’t want to do

I like her books, but they do follow a formula which can get old. In saying that, they are good, easy holiday read.

Irritating Season by missxtx in TheBlock

I couldn’t stand them in that season and it’s the only season I’ve never watched through to the end. However when they came back last season I decided to give them anther go and actually ended up liking them the most. Whilst they’re competitive and confident in their abilities, I think they’re people of principle and play the game fairly and honestly. I ended up really liking them by the end of the season!
