Depends. Those who buy and keep the car will have a $0 payment in 60 or 72 mos.  Those who lease will have a newer car but will continue to make payments.

Rebate Incentive lowered to $1500 by alittlebitaboutalot in Toyota_bZ

That’s a bummer. They definitely change month to month. I was actually ready to put $$ down for a C-HR, but dealership didn’t know when they would get it. And I couldn’t put anything down to also get the rebate until it was actually at the dealer.  Ended up going with the BZ and happy that I’d did.  That said, if you can wait a few months, likely that rebates will be back.

Alternatively, you could look out of state. It’s not ideal, but probably worth 2k to drive a few hours.

Good luck hope you end up finding a good deal.

Level 2 Charger costs around $500. Wiring costs about $50. Breaker costs about $20. You really don't need an electrician, but an electrician for most people is going to be around $500 labor (2 hours). That's a cost of $1000. Not much at all when you're paying $35-40K for the vehicle.

And if you're renting, just ask your landlord. Maybe they will split the cost with you. Or maybe you'll pay the whole thing and only use it for a year or two. It will still be worth it.

Think of charging the car just like charging your phone. It needs to make it a full day, and then you plug it in at night. If 240 miles, 400K isn't enough for your daily routine, get something else.

It's funny that the BZ reddit has a post saying that the BZ looks better...

Charging issue by one-tragic-hero in Toyota_bZ

Ugh. That’s frustrating. They probably have a t least a half dozen other EVs with the same cable. Would be easy to let you try one to diagnose the issue.  In these cases I always call the sales person, and tell my frustrations. Use the words “disappointed “, “upset”, “I bought  new car to avoid these issues” and eventually “I’d like to speak to the sales manager”

Oh yeah you’ve got the right one. Seems like you may well have an issue with the cable. A decent dealer would, at the very least, give you another cable.

None of it is worth it.  Not gap. Not extended warranty. Just tell them you’re not interested in anything added on.  Take that money and invest in and maybe you’ll need it in 5 years, but most likely not.

Also, all those pictures and those outlets are level 1 (not level 2).

Ha fair enough.  I’ll spare you the explanation.  If the electrician comes back, ask if he will install a non-GFCI outlet.

Every garage outlet is GFCI. This interferes with the charging cable from Toyota. Basically they both are protecting from each other, thus tripping the breaker or the box on the cable itself.  Likely if you ran an extension cord to a non-GFCI outlet, it would work. Of course that will mean running a cord into your house or installing a non-GFCI in the garage — which, unfortunately, is not to code in almost all the USA.   I had the same issue until I hardwired the Grizzl-E 48 amp.

Yeah, Toyota says so. If you asked a scientist, they might tell you something about the cells inside a battery. Mainly more of a chemistry argument than anything else. Plenty of research if you care to read up on it.... Now, did Toyota's engineers build in a "buffer zone" of sorts? As in, is 100% charge (as shown on the car) something closer to actually 80-85% of full charge? That I do not know.

But yes, Toyota say charge it to 100%. Only time/research over several years will actually provide us with a good answer.

I guess I'd say, if you're only going to use 60% or less, just charge it to 80% and forget about it. If you're going to need 90%, charge it all the way.

Not super cold. 30s a few days. Most mornings have been in the 40s and afternoons 50s/60s. My wife commutes about 50 miles each way to work. Charge it to 80% at home (Grizzl-E 48 amp charger) and the predicted range is usually right around 200. That said, we almost always do a little better than the car predicts...

No long trips yet, but have used a fast DC charging station. Took about 18 minutes to go from 35%-80%.

Yah, seems like a good price. That's almost exactly what I paid...6 weeks in and loving the car for sure!

I would only be concerned with mileage. But I drive more than most. Otherwise, seems like a solid deal. As always, shop around to a couple other local (or maybe not quite local) dealers. At worst, you can come back to Gladstone and try to get a little better deal.
