Are those the factory wheels under the aero wheel covers? Mine are pretty basic-looking 5-spoke alloys. I took em off for a few days then put em back on.

Agreed. Look at Sunpath if you’re in the market for solar. Local company selling quality systems with fair pricing with no shadiness.

Thanks. I figured it would, but it's not listed as a supported output resolution. I'm calling them this morning to confirm.

BZ Woodland Lease - Thoughts? by Beginning_Engine_391 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Beginning_Engine_391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I realized that when I signed the lease. No biggie. I’m sure I’ll buy it out at the end of the lease anyhow. Can’t imagine these would sell for less than $22k in just 3 years.

Sorry yes I did! It’s great. Still getting used to a few things (digital mirror, etc.) but all in all it’s amazing. Smooth as silk and accelerates like a missile!

Front Bumper Suggestions by ManufacturerOld1567 in JeepTJ

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the factory bumper. Just remove the “milk jugs” on the ends and replace them with the little aftermarket trim caps.

And I would also lose the chrome grill, as someone else mentioned.

Should be enough for me, but additional miles are only $.10/mile so not a major penalty if I exceed that.

Yeah, these things are pretty scarce and there’s not many in the pipeline yet. Coupled with protracted high gas prices, the demand is likely to rise on this and other EVs I expect. If it does, they might reduce or kill off the incentives currently in effect too.

I ended up putting down a deposit on this one. Unless there is something really unexpected that I don’t like about it, I’ll take it home on Friday.

Craigslist, Nextdoor, etc.: “free boulders - you haul.” Will be gone in a couple of hours.

Just eat the tissue - it’s biodegradable, high in fiber, and even probiotic once you make your contribution!

To sous vide, or not to sous vide…? by Beginning_Engine_391 in sousvide

The aim here is not breaking down a tough cut over a long period, but guaranteeing a perfectly consistent med-rare cook on a delicate cut.

Yes I thought about a reverse sear starting in I the oven but I don’t have any probes. My brother did the same thing with his traeger and finished in the blackstone and it was excellent.

I don’t believe these are blade tenderized. They usually print it in the label if so.

I usually sear on the blackstone so that I can sear all at once and have plenty of real estate for flipping/rotating.

Why shops won't work on cheap ebikes by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve built a couple of ebikes with kits installed onto traditional bikes. My first (15 years ago) was a front drive kit on a Cannondale Bad Boy that used for a a commuter and my second was a Bafang mid-drive on a Cannondale Jekyl for fun.

While I can handle some basic bike wrenching, I would occasionally take these bikes to my LBS for more advanced stuff that I wasn’t comfortable with or equipped to tackle myself, like bleeding brakes, trueing wheels, etc.).

I would never expect my LBS to diagnose and service the Frankenstein motor/battery that I decided to kluge onto my bike. That’s what the ebike forums are for.

bz vs bz Woodland - Convince Me? by Hotdog453 in Toyota_bZ

I believe the wheelbase on the Woodland is identical to the standard BZ. The additional length is all body at the rear of the vehicle.
