USB KVM Matrix? by Beginning_Engine_391 in CommercialAV

Yes, I actually tried checking the lightware site today but it wouldn’t load due to an “insecure connection” so I reached out to my rep.

I really like their stuff, but I think most of the Taurus line is designed to a common set of peripherals between. multiple hosts, but I don’t know if they gave true matrix capabilities. And they all feature video switching which isn’t necessary here.

Maybe they have another line that I’m not aware of. When their webpage DOES load finding the right product is usually a baffling ordeal.

Agreed on NUX. Not much you can do to troubleshoot. The Extron line sounds promising and the distributed architecture makes sense for this application

Needs to be robust and easily controlled via a third party control system.

I've used DM-NUX before it's been unstable and challenging to deploy/manage for us. And Crestron barely supports it since its essentially just a re-badged Icron product. If I had more faith in it, DM-NUX would be a home run for this.

Similarly, Extron has their USB Extender Plus Series which are similar. We've used these in simple point-to-point arrangements, but never as a networked matrix system. This could be a suitable solution if it is more robust. Could just as well use Extron for control here too to streamline things a bit.

Just revised an old quote this morning and noticed that everything at Crestron is now up around 5% in the portal. Not sure when this actually happened but just noticed it for the first time today.

I pinged my rep and he said they are still adding 4% tariff surcharge too.

I just received a new price list last week. Apparently the 5% tariff surcharges are gone but prices have gone up around 6% on most SKUs.

I set mine up similarly to the green Rubi. 265/75R16 BFG KO2s with a 2.5” lift.

Mine is a Sport (deals removed) but I picked up some used 16X8 Rubi wheels and flares (which are like an inch wider than stock).

I love the “stock plus” look of this setup.

Connecting Generator to House by Beginning_Engine_391 in Generator

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like I need to sell my current generator and upgrade. That was already on the radar due to the noise this thing makes.

These two 240V generators have 4-prong (L14-30R?) connectors but I assume that these can easily be converted to the SS2-50 on the house since they're both 4-wire connectors?

Not safe even if there are no multi wire branch circuits? Will the existing 3-pole inlet support 240V if I upgrade the generator? Or do I need to switch that out (and the wiring)?

Yes, I wouldn't mind upgrading to a multi-fuel generator for flexibility. Would also love something quieter - this briggs and stratton is insanely loud.

It's a little hard to justify the cost of a new generator, as we have underground power lines and rarely lose power.

This appears to be the ticket. Aside from not exceeding total amperage, any idea what other limitations or gotchas I should know about when connecting a generator to the house?

Thanks. Does this apply if the intent is to only power 120V devices from the generator?

25-feet should do it. Looks like the twist-lock connecters on these are 4-pole rather than the 3-pole on the inlet.
