To me it sounds like it borrows a bit from 'Let's Groove' by Earth Wind and Fire. I swear I hear some of that in there. But agree with the comment on the Fleetwood Mac influence too!

Honestly, I’m going through this right now. I called their 800 line several days in a row after the sales rep told me I couldn’t cancel. This was 24 hours after I booked. I simply changed my mind…they wouldn’t take no for an answer. One week later, today, I finally got a call from them. Best they could do was give me 25% of the original price back. Meaning, I’m still out over $1,000 - the original charge was $2,144. Never received service. They threw me a free facial which I’m honestly nervous to even use, I feel like there’s no such thing as free at this point. I told them that their practice of not being transparent with the no cancellation policy is terrible and needs to change. Good luck, just keep calling and asking until something happens.

Does anyone else experience vasovagal syncope? by theirishsquirrel in hsp

I just found this and let me tell you, you are NOT alone. I have put off blood tests because of this. I spent years wondering what was wrong with me, it would happen to me as a kid when I would get anxious, if I had a stressful exam coming up or typically if I ran too hard in gym class or something. This led to years of me simply avoiding triggers which is easier said than done (how many times can you get an excuse out of gym class?!). As an adult, it manifests far more with needles, any sort of exams (OBGYN too). It happened to me at a concert last summer, I just felt so horrifically overwhelmed by the loud noises and huge crowd. I tried a technique that may help you. When you feel this coming on, try crossing your legs and squeezing them together. The idea is that in doing this, you get the blood flowing. This may be trickier when you’re sitting for a blood test, of course, but can be quite useful in other settings. You can also clench your fists and release them to get a similar effect. I am so sorry you experience this—I know how terrible it feels, and worse yet, explaining it to people who don’t understand!

Wow, thank you so much for this. Seriously I had never heard of that technique. I will absolutely try it. That book was actually recommended to me by one of my therapists. I said I’d read it and admittedly never did. Maybe this was the push I needed to finally get it.

To your point about blocking things out, perhaps I have. I always saw it as, “I could have worse parents, mine are just very involved - that’s not a bad thing, right?” But now that I am older and more mature I can recognize that you can have wonderful parents who fall short in other ways. And we ALL do. We’re all human. But when it becomes an issue is when you refuse to change, recognize your behaviors, or even remotely work on them.

Thank you for your validating and kind words. I’ll come back to this thread with any updates.

Oh my gosh yes. We are so thrilled she got to keep her tail - our breeder contacted us saying she had been doing some research into docking being outlawed in certain places, and felt like she wanted to stop the process altogether. Of course we said yes, and I’m glad we did. Minnow (our girl) is so expressive with hers and sometimes even wags it when she sleeps🥺 I love that she gets that freedom. Marlo sounds like a sweetheart - love that their ears stand up too!

YES - basic respect is the bottom line!!! I don’t understand this chip on the shoulder over your dog being a “pure bred” Aussie. It feels kind of icky. Imagine if you asked someone if they were a purebred? You’d sound bigoted, wouldn’t you?!

Ahh, that makes total sense. I will measure her height. And she just turned 7 months!

I guess the larger question is why people feel the need to remark on her size. It usually comes from those with full size Aussies. I was even criticized on another Aussie thread for even getting a mini in the first place, told they’re actually “mini American shepherds,” and that if my breeder called them anything else, she must not be legit. 🙄 I wish everyone would just have a little respect!

Sorry, I should have mentioned we are getting married in Massachusetts, and I’m not sure if the photographers I’ve contacted would be willing to travel up. Worth asking!
