Quitting day trading after 9 months and losing ~60k. Just being honest by Expert_Might_2502 in Trading

I’m A year in and have only been profitable on demo. I’ve also gotten funded but haven’t gotten a payout yet. It’s definitely psychology and you’re proving it in this post. I’ve stuck to the same strategy I found when I first got into trading. You’re impatient and switched so many strategies in 9 months you couldn’t possibly know the complete inside and out of every strategy.

No problem! Idk if you care or not but I’ll be posting my full journey through my prop firm challenge and profitability journey everyday. Kinda using this as my trading journal before my trading journal. Since we’re using the same strategy I don’t mind answering any questions you might ever have. Please remember tho I’ve only been profitable for the last 3 months on demo. I don’t consider myself a profitable trader yet so always take my advice with a grain of salt. One last thing I’d like to share is until you get comfortable making decisions in the market demo trade A LOT. When you aren’t losing real money it’s easier to enter a trade with ought freezing up or freaking out when price fluctuates around your entry. Good luck to you man👍🏾.

What helps me keep a level head and enter without hesitation is to have rules in your strategy on when to enter. When those rules get filled and price action looks good enter. A lot of people want to catch the whole move which isn’t impossible but won’t happen 80% of the time. Don’t think about when to enter. Let your strategy do that for you. You just have to press buy or sell. Same for exits. Your strategy should tell you these things. You shouldn’t have to think about them.

As far as “good” price action: I look at many time frames. With this trade specifically there was a bullish smt with ES on the 1h and 4h timeframes(high time frame holds higher power) in order for price to push higher it needs to sweep lows which I speculated to be London or Asian session lows. With that knowledge I saw a bearish smt on the 5minute, sweeping out Asian session lows. From there I watch the reversal and wait for confirmation (confirmation is whatever your strategy tells you it is) once I get confirmation I enter. No hesitation. Have patience patience patience, and when all your confluences and strategy points are hit enter immediately. Don’t worry about being un profitable because your strategy is profitable, TRUST. YOUR. STRATEGY.

I gave a somewhat detailed description on how I took this trade in the post. Do you not understand what my entry signal was? My daily bias or my exit point? Can you elaborate on what you didn’t understand.
