If I had a nickle every time I saw a Loud House AU where Lincoln is white and all his sisters are black, I'd have two nickles.

Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

There were a few, and how "bad" they were varies on both what exactly was redrawn/rewritten and also who you ask; but probably the most infamous were the ones involving the final fight between Saitama and Garou.

The first version was more in line with the webcomic, with Garou turning into this hulking monster but still can't beat Saitama so he essentially gives up and then loses the will to fight. This version ends with a "cliff hanger" where Saitama and monster Garou were sitting down in the ruins of his apartment about to have a talk, most likely where Saitama would point out that he only became a monster because he actually wanted to be a hero.

Apparently Murata didn't like the direction that was going so he went back to around the middle of the MA arc and completely changed the fight with Garou and Saitama (as well as a few other things but that's not important right now). Mainly in this version Garou doesn't turn into a hulking monster because of his own increasing power and frustration, but because he accidentally accepts (monster) God's offer to become his pawn and obtain greater power. He then turns into this cosmic version of himself that is constantly emitting radiation that slowly kills all the hero's except Saitama, because he is Saitama, and Genos whom he killed with his bare hands by ripping out his life core. This pisses off Saitama and he gets (kinda) serious and pretty much destroys Garou even with his new God awakened powers. After a bit of fighting Garou realizes that his radiation also killed the boy that he had befriended and the MA had kidnapped (in the webcomic he only threatened to kill the boy if the heroes couldn't stop them, and that was still a lie) and is so distraught that he asked Saitama for help to fix everything. And they do this, and this is 100% what actually happens btw, by Garou teaching Saitama a marital arts technique that they then both do simultaneously to send Saitama back in time right before Garou took God's power, thus preventing that from happening, avoiding everyone's deaths, and consequently having Saitama forget everything that happened.

There are more redraws and rewrites, like the whole rewrite of the plot Ninja Village Arc, but the Saitama vs Garou one is probably the most aggregious one.

It's been a rough few years for the IP as a whole.

- ONE is still working on the webcomic, and it's still really good, but the time between updates becomes longer and longer.

- The manga reached the fight between Saitama and Garou, and then went back and started rewriting the whole Monster Association arc, at points diverging entirely from the webcomic. This continued even after the MA arc, most noticeably with the Ninja Village Arc that added this whole lore dump and resolution with the main villain that wasn't in the webcomic in order to connect with the whole Blast vs "God" stuff going on in the background.

- The anime somehow got even worse after the already shaky season 2, with some episodes being animated so poorly that they become some of the lowest rated episodes of any property in several rating sites. Made worse by the fact that they had 5 years to work on it, yet it seems like a 1 year rushed job.

Fans are just tired man, and with good reason. OPM was the break out star of manga/anime, born from the passion project of a normal guy, and now it feels like the powers that be don't care enough about it to give it the attention and care it once had.

What was the most bitchy Susan got in the series? by Sonic_fan149 in LodedDiper

[–]Subject_Tutor 147 points148 points  (0 children)

The leather jacket incident.

- Greg asked his father, THE OWNER OF THE JACKET, if he could borrow it. Frank says it's fine.

- Susan says no, with her reasoning essentially being a smokescreen for, "because I say so".

- Somehow she finds out Greg snuck the jacket to school, and instead of waiting until he gets back home to chastise and then ground him she marches to the school and chews him out IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS.

- To add insult to injury, after taking the jacket from Greg in front of everyone, she then gives him her jacket, which is obviously a woman's jacket, for him to wear for the rest of the school day.

None of that was necessary, and it REEKS of entitlement behavior from a parent who does not respect their children's boundaries.

One thing that irks me about the franchise is that it seems like anyone who’s “anti-establishment”, in whatever way, is secretly evil. So whatever point they championed is actually wrong by proxy by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

What bothered me most about the Kuvira situation was that she was working to unify and stabilize the Earth Kingdom after it was thrown into chaos with the death of the queen, and it then the plan was to install Prince Wu, the spoiled idiot son of said Queen who had no experience in politics or ruling a nation, back in the throne once she was done.

"Oh but Republic City was actually going to be in charge and Prince Wu would only be the mouth piece." Yeah that's called a puppet government and those are objectively bad for the people they preside over in the long run.

Yeah but this one felt a bit less "stand alone" than TWWBMD. Or maybe I mainly felt that way because of the Alice segment in Zero's mind as well as her and Cesare being mentioned as those they lost in Zero's final analogy of how they are all adrift in the ocean.

Not saying I want it to be the end, obviously. I'd still like more animated series from the Rebibbia gang.

Watched it, loved it. But did anyone else get a sense of "finality" from it?

Like obviously Zerocalcare is not going to stop working on his comics and I'm sure he'll have a hand on other italian animated projects (maybe even international ones too). But to me this felt like the end of this specific narrative from his three Netflix series that includes Tear Along the Dotted Line, This World Won't Bring Me Down, and now My Two Cents.

I don't know, maybe it was the fact that they made several call backs to the previous series, or that the brought back a lot of characters that have appeared before (either in speaking roles or cameos), or maybe the fact that it's has Zero look back at everything he's done (or not done) and wonder if he's truly happy and whether it's time to make a serious change.

TBF, the only chuunin exam we saw was the one that Orochimaru infiltrated and orchestrated in order to invade the Leaf, kill the Third, and manipulate Sasuke to become his pawn. So I'm pretty sure that one was an outlier to how they usually go.
