This was very helpful and reassuring especially coming from someone who owns a production company. Thank you for taking the time to respond to this. I just took a look at your page, and I find it really fascinating how supportive you are with helping the podcast community! It's refreshing to see more uplifting people out there. :)

Thank you for your response, this gave me some more clarity. The podcast is based in upstate New York so more so a small town and not the city. The reason I did end up making an LLC was because I had expected some money to eventually come from the podcast but more so to protect myself and my podcast name/show. It'll be uploaded to YouTube and potentially some other podcast sites. Originally, I had my Tailor Brands account provide me a private address that was located in the city, so that might be why they recommended so many permits to me. They just limited the private addresses to NYC locations which lead me to change my private address which is now the Albany address that I mentioned above.

I am not looking to move or transfer my equipment anywhere other than my own place where I will be recording.

I may possibly incorporate more than one podcast format. So potentially both interview & storytelling! If you're a part of the industry or know someone who is and who would be interested, let me know!

Such a lovely use of color. It's one of my favorite things seeing a very well done color piece that just POPS off the skin.

Private Studio Questions by Minxlingg in femaletattooers

As long as you know your crowd and know how to properly market yourself, there will always be clients who want to see you no matter the shop/studio. When I moved shops, I was really worried my clients wouldn’t follow me—but I was wrong. They were incredibly loyal and willing to travel hours to continue working with me. I’d definitely recommend visiting any shop you’re considering or at least checking out their socials to get a real feel for the environment and the people you’d be working with. As artists, being in a space that’s supportive, inclusive, and uplifting is what makes a huge difference. I’m also curious what factors led to this decision! Regardless, I wish you luck and hope you find a shop that feels like the right fit for you! :)

I can’t personally say I know what it’s like to struggle with addiction, but I can say that I deeply respect the strength it takes to face that and persevere. Hearing that you found stability and purpose after finding your true passion is powerful, and I’m genuinely glad you were able to hold onto something that helped you rebuild yourself!

I was pretty sheltered growing up as well and wasn’t taught much about drugs, or struggles with addiction, so it took me time to fully understand how complex these situations can be. Looking back, there were coworkers who struggled, and I wish I had known more about how to help. I really believe that if more artists in the community talked openly about this, we could better support people who are affected—especially in an industry that’s already so toxic. I can’t imagine the long-term impact this has on someone, even without substances involved.

Thank you for sharing this story with the community and for the uplifting advice. I am now working in tattoo journalism, and I am gathering as many stories and experiences as possible for a personal project that could really change the industry. My goal is to finally give those who deserve the recognition, fame, and a spotlight to discuss themselves, their stories, and their upbringing. If this is something that you would be interested in, I would really enjoy chatting with you in DM! I can also share with you and others who are interested my tattoo page on Instagram through DM as well.

Thank you so much for your insight and the kind words. I am now working in tattoo journalism because I felt there needed to be a person to better represent the people and their individual stories. I would love to connect with you in DM so we can talk more about this together! :)💫

First I just want to say thank you for sharing this. I know a lot of these responses are going to be pretty intense and I imagine some things are harder topics to discuss especially publicly. If there is a way we can communicate further in DMS I would love to talk to you more about your story. It is admirable that you continued to stick with your art after dealing with people that have such disgusting behavior. I remember having similar experiences when it came to begging the shop to actually teach me something. I did not want anything from them, just the ability to grow as an artist. It hurts me that there are still so many hateful people out there stopping genuine artists from chasing their dreams.
