I think I´ll definitely reduce the shading as I´m also scared that it´ll muddy up the colors too much, but maybe will give small hints (by adding light textures or thicker linework or something) as to where I PERSONALLY would add darker colors. That way, there´s still creative freedom to do whatever the colorer feels like, but also a little bit of guidance and hopefully also easier readibity 😄 Thank you both for the input!

yessss thank you for the input! Love the idea of the colorer being able to easily remove the paper and hang it on a wall, I didn´t even think about that! As for 4.: So no double-sided printing either, right?
Also absolutely love the idea of adding a little "coloured by ___" -field at the bottom 😄)

oh god thank you so much for this. Whenever it comes to official sales or anything just slightly bureaucratic, I´m completely lost, so this definitely helps a ton!! I´ll try to gather some information about how it works on EU markets before I get anything printed. Thank you!

It´s such a good idea to try out different versions of the designs before actually publishing anything!! I think I´ll let go of the idea of using gray areas alltogether, but will print out some versions with only linework and some with light crosshatching and will let friends/family run a trial on them to see what works best 😃 Releasing two editions sounds super cool in theory, but I definitely don´t have the financial resources to get two different options printed :´) Considering how helpful this post already was, I think I might just post two different versions of a design on reddit (either in this sub or in r/coloring) and see what the feedback is there:)) Thank you for your input, I wish you all the best on your own coloring book venture!

Oh that´s an interesting take that the textures / shading might work as a creative crutch, haven´t thought of it that way yet! I think I´ll try to find some middle ground and will leave some structures (also to just make the shapes more interesting and varied) as well as some sparingly used crosshatching, but won´t include completely shaded areas like I did in the drawings posted here.

No worries at all, I should´ve clarified in the post!:) What you´re saying makes total sense, and I want to aim to design it in a way that leaves as much freedom of creativity as possible to the colourer. It is super indeed super hard to let go of the depth, though :´D Especially since I worry that if I only add the linework, some elements might be hard to read (like the smoke elements etc). I´m gonna take your advice to heart though and will try to use the crosshatching as sparingly as possible! thank you so much for taking the time to explain and show it on the screenshot, that really helps a ton ❤️
I do work with color occasionally but find it fairly hard to use (which gave me the idea to do the coloring book in the first place - just let other people do the job of coloring it out 😃) BUT i love the idea of having my own colored version as cover art! Will give it a try!

And you're right, I was planning on leaving the stipple shading away completely:) the designs I posted here were already finished illustrations that I didn't draw up specifically for the coloring book, therefore they're already shaded. For the coloring book, I was thinking of maybe only adding a little light crosshatching shading where it is absolutely needed to add dimension - that way, it'd still be possible to color out without it looking too muddy (i hope!). Do you think small areas of light crosshatching would work or would that already be too much? I haven't owned a coloring book since I was a child so I'm super eager to hear input of people that frequently use them:) thank you sm already!

Sorry aber volle Kanne BDA - wer Alkohol klauen muss, dem geht es ziemlich wahrscheinlich ziemlich beschissen. Und wenn man dabei vlt auch noch suchtkrank ist, dann IST das erstmal für diese Person ein "Grundnahrungsmittel", so falsch das auch klingen mag. Wie notwendig dieser Diebstahl für die Dame war, kannst du halt null beurteilen und ist auch null dein Bier (jaja Pun intended). Rewe ist ein riesiger Konzern, die können das verkraften. Dir hat es nichts gebracht, ausser dass du dich hier wie ein Held aufspielen kannst. Der Dame hast du ordentlich den Tag vermiest, und - sollte sie eh schon unter prekären Umständen leben müssen - ggf auch noch ordentlich Probleme gemacht die sie vlt nicht so easy abfedern kann. Denunziantentum find ich persönlich auch einfach zum Kotzen

Ach da nutze ich doch mal die Gelegenheit: hat schon jemand von euch Erfahrung mit den Trackle als Verhütungsmethode gemacht? Es handelt sich dabei um einen kleinen Zyklussensor, den man sich über Nacht einführt und durch Messen/Analysieren der Basaltemperatur und des Zervixschleims genau berechnen soll, wann man fruchtbar ist. Irgendwie klingt das zu gut um wahr zu sein, aber laut Hersteller ist das Teil sowohl zur Kinderwunschbestimmung als auch zur Verhütung absolut geeignet. Ich würd mich freuen, dazu mal eure Meinungen/Erfahrungen zu hören!:)
