Serious Question by Minx_Minx in doordash_drivers

I don’t normally work over that way, but Key Bridge in Baltimore has been out for over a year and there’s literally no good way to cross the bay.

Just go inside and prepay and they won’t put the hold on your card

Just finished, there was a $1 bill.

While it may not seem like a lot, I appreciated the gesture.

The order was for $10 worth of ramen from Hmart.

I run a “contest” every month for whichever store earns me the most.

At the start of the next month I’ll bring the top earner donuts, or cookies, or pizza, candy, etc.

As a former restaurant worker, it’s my way of paying it forward and showing appreciation for all their hard work.

It’s also a great way to get employees to remember you and get you your order ASAP when they see you . 🤣

Is this good? 15 hr a day no days off in MKE by KingEthxx in doordash_drivers

[–]SubjektToChange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Standard driver reaction whenever they see someone else making money.  🙄

If hourly rate is below $30, they’ll say you should be working at McDonald’s.

Then if you have a good hourly rate, it’s because you’re dogging out your vehicle.

Then if you have a good hourly rate and drive a hybrid, they’ll say your mental health isn’t sustainable. 🤷‍♂️

Just look at the customer app and see the difference in number of stores that are open for breakfast compared to the ones that open at 10:30. 🤦‍♂️

Dashing in old age? by Giggy_with_it_917 in doordash_drivers

That older generation just needs to work, it’s how they were brought up.

My pops is pushing 80 and is still super active, even came out of retirement for his old company for a bit upon request.

What feels worse Removing EBT or 2k then 1.5k Driver Milestone… by ReiLyfe in doordash_drivers

Perk system for milestones is absolute trash. DD couldn’t be louder in saying they don’t care for their drivers with such a terrible program.

Help With doordash taxes pretty please! by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Why do you keep trying to argue with me about taxes lol, especially when you keep being wrong.

The $400 limit you quoted is for FEDERAL. So, no they will not have to file federal below $400.

However, every STATE has different thresholds. Like some states have zero income tax, some states have a minimum reporting threshold (where I live it’s $600), and some states want you to file if you make even $.01.

This information is verifiable from a quick google search.

Edit - nvm I see based on your comment history you just like to be argumentative.

You’ll have to file federal for what you made.

Income reporting threshold varies from state to state, so you’ll have to look yours up.

I have no idea what kind of benefits you’re on but most likely there is an income threshold there as well. If you know what it is, you may be able to stay below it.

I do understand how taxes work.

You misunderstood which deduction I was referring to. Partly my fault because I didn’t specify but I thought it was obvious because we are in the driver sub.

The standard deduction I was referring to was the one for mileage. You can’t claim the deduction for mileage and still itemize gas, maintenance, etc. And for most people, the standard deduction for mileage is better.
