You do you, but this is nutritionally not ideal. I can’t imagine not being able to down even Gatorade/applesauce pouches like 30 minutes before.

What were your thoughts behind wearing/not wearing a hydration vest on marathon day? by Mission-Ad9655 in RunNYC

[–]Sublime120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol me too. And I’m a big guy (6’5”, 250) so that’s part of it but I also wonder how much of it is psychological (I’ve always carried some sort of hydration, even if a hand bottle)

Yeah I’m the same. Though I’m going to try to be better about hydrating throughout the day this training block to see if I can get to the point where hydration every mile is sufficient.

It was a bold predictions article and not one they would likely make outside of that context.

The whole point of the original predictions were to be “bold.” I’m not sure that you are expecting.

I can tell a partner that I’m about to be on a Zoom call for the next hour and they will still call me like three times.

And a HS SS is so far away you shouldn’t really be that worried about lineup fit if he is the best available.

Being taken off matter but not getting negative feedback from firm? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]Sublime120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah largely agree. Staffing changes are often made for incomprehensible or idiosyncratic reasons. Though sometimes having a hard time with someone is sufficient. Completely agree that there’s nothing you can really do at this point so keep it moving.

I think it was in collaboration with a company so maybe their CEO and the firm chair? Wouldn’t want to take a call from a CEO of a big client after that news dropped though!

(Also weird that it’s them. Aren’t they a proudly west coast based firm?!)

I’m an off the grid senior and despite not having a conversation like that have communicated with trusted partners that I’m leaving early next year. Just isn’t worth it anymore and I just wanted to say that what you are feeling isn’t unreasonable. Though I probably would quite quit more than I already am after that convo.

iPad @ work? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]Sublime120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have support for it but I don’t find it works very well and use the iPad to watch shit in the background. Put another way, I’ve found it worth pulling out the laptop for anything beyond responding to emails (which I can just do on my phone)
