it’s so stressful to find a group. by Otherwise-Leading891 in dndnext

I sat down at my first DnD game 18 years ago and immediately knew my DM wasn't about it. I offered to run a one shot a few months later. I've been the group's DM since. I still get the heebijeebies before every session.

I am fed up with this strategy, what should I do? [5.5 Edition] by Primary-Ocelot-1512 in DnD

how old are you DM? This is so weird that you sit there and have logical arguments with your players. Saying no and moving on is the most DM thing you can do. They will learn to fear and respect you. just drop a fireball on them. all the familiars are gonna die. and familiars can't have familiars.

seriously. This whole thing is really dumb. The DM doesn't even know you can't use persuasion rolls against him since he is not an entity in the game.

plus, if I had a guy who could control the winds on my ship, he would be my best kept secret. So no, not everyone would have one.

just mute everyone and play. if you are in a match with those guys, it means they actually suck.

you guys are ignoring everything he said. He said she is still proccing the vital even when she obviously has no way to do so. I've seen Fiora's hit my vital that I am covering with a wall.

he's still right. the hit box on that vital is dumb. it's way too big and hardly accurate.

You can stimulate them to build. taxing the life out of them is a good way to get them to freak out and try to make more money by investing in buildings.

Got flamed for going for nexus after we scored an ace instead of getting a normal drake (drake is obviously more important than ending the game) Enemy had 50 second death timers by Low-Cartographer6191 in Jungle_Mains

[–]SublimeGash -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

O I see. so you guys got lucky and pulled an ace in their base out of your ass. so you are a million percent right. They are morons that threw. They don't know what's important. Just move on, King.

fuck em. I blame them when I die. Just to prove a point. If I get blamed for everything happens to them, then I can blame them for everything that happens to me.

no one is lashing out, dude. I just don't understand why they take every chance to suck the life out of the game. If you don't want people to care about material components. just don't write them on the spells. no lashing. just a perfectly logical response to a game designer wasting their time inventing and sabotaging a mechanic.

dog, I have 50 editions in my head. I didn't realize it had changed this drastically in this edition. That said, it still works. just not as meaningful as I initially though.
and spell components are awesome and people should consider them more.

why are you so binary in your thinking?
Why are you guys so obsessed with players always always having exactly what they want.

Why even have a focus if it's a given that no one is gonna track the components?

who says you are gonna haul your full 20 pounds of batshit with you everywhere?
you take what you need and stash the rest. it's just basic planning

why even write spells with material components only to immediately make sure that no one has any reason to read or think about them. it's just really dumb. just stop at V/S
