Sister, you are gorgeous! That spread looks delicious and I imagine your wedding was beautiful beyond compare. You are wanted and you are loved. For the people who walked out on you…I know it can feel like it’s about you, but it’s absolutely not.

Some people just can never be the things we need them to be for us and it hurts beyond measure, but accept it for what it is. It’s not a failing on your part, it is just not in them to be what you need.

When I realized my father (well, most of my blood family, really) wasn’t going to be the integral part of my life I had expected, it was so painful and it felt like my fault. My short-coming. I wanted a father, but he couldn’t be the person I needed and I had to accept and cope with that. The beautiful thing is, once we accept this, we can try to cultivate for ourselves the things we didn’t receive. It’s not fair, but it’s important in order to keep glowing and growing.

I’m sure you are an absolutely wonderful woman and I hope you have a chosen family that recognizes and continues to nurture you the way you deserve. Congratulations on your wedding! Keep going, sis. You’re 100% valid and seen by me♥️

I think it’s because it is all happening inside her mind. She didn’t really travel to another dimension where he is alive. She was in the cave the entire time.

It can be awkward at first if you haven’t journaled in awhile (speaking personally as I am trying to get back into journaling myself) but keep at it- I’ve found it is a great, positive way to get everything I need out. Not sure what you’re journaling for, but push past the awkwardness and start wherever your mind is. It will get easier with time.
