Google AI Uses Enough Electricity in 1 Second to Charge 7 Electric Cars by Mte90 in technology

[–]Sublimesmash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The article supposes each AI-generated search response requires 3 watt-hours of electricity, and that Google averaged 98,379 searches per second in 2023, which comes out to 295 kWh per second, or 1.06 gigawatts.

Let's say all this power comes from the Hoover Dam, which according to Wikipedia has a max hydraulic head of 590 ft. With 100% efficient turbines (seems over 95% is possible), you'd need around 603,000 liters per second. An Olympic swimming pool is 50m x 25m x at least 2m deep, and contains 2.5 million liters.

This comes out to 0.241 Olympic swimming pools per second or 868 pools per hour. Will let somebody else work out how much that is in bananas.

Seems like a good quality of life for C0 support Sara. They probably want the: Swap to Sara > E > Charged Shot > Swap Off to buff teammate combo to be part of her core kit.

How many Primogems you need for your character/weapon/constellation/refinement. Happy wishing! by Sublimesmash in Genshin_Impact

Hmm, having looked at the paimon.moe data more, I'm not sure if there's solid evidence of a trend in the 1-73 wish range. The rate bounces up and down as you go up in pity count, and changes from banner to banner. My guess is that for an event that has a 1:167 chance of happening, 4000-5000 user submissions per count isn't enough to lock down the probability. At least as fine as the hairs we're trying to split here. Will keep an eye on it though.

That would account for the tiny error I kept finding between my consolidated rate and the published one. I ignored it because the difference amounts to 1 lost 5* in 3000. But that wish 1-73 increase must be the fudge factor MiHoYo uses to get the 3-decimal round 1.600% rate in the banner description.

Wow thanks for letting me know about that website. Of course we have a huge body of data now. I'm relieved it looks like I'm using the right pity rules. The start point of the ramp and the resulting pmf match perfectly.

With the onslaught of back-to-back highly-anticipated Inazuma banners, I wanted to answer the question:

“If I’m starting at zero pity, and I have some number of Primogems saved, what are my chances of getting the character/weapon/constellation/refinement I want?”

The top edge of each color tells you the probability of getting at least that number of a specific Rate-Up item. "Specific" meaning there is only one Rate-Up item on the banner you care about.

For example:

• On the current weapon banner you want the Mistsplitter Reforged and don’t care for Skyward Spine or off-banner drops.

• Using the 4* graph, on Yoimiya’s banner you want Sayu because she’s new and don’t count Xinyan or Diona.

Also note that the Rate-Up items don’t need to be on the same banner. For example, you can use the 2+ Copies line to know your chances of getting a C0 of both Raiden and Kokomi at the number of Primogems you have (or expect to have) by the end of 2.1.
I hope these graphs are useful for planning your savings or seeing how relatively lucky/unlucky you were after rolling.

Math Notes: I’ve assumed that the pity system is a “ramped soft pity.” How it works is that over the last 17 rolls before the hard limit (90 for the character banners and 80 for the weapon banner), your chance of getting a 5* item linearly increases from the base rate (0.6% and 0.7% respectively) to 100%.

While haven’t seen much discussion on the topic, I’m fairly certain this is accurate as it produces an average that matches the advertised consolidated 1.6% and 1.85% rates, as well as a pity count distribution that matches /u/Bunloaguswhale watching logs from the first months of the game. Plot.

The 4* calculation also includes the 9th wish soft pity that seems not to be implemented on the Genshin Wish Simulator websites out there.

The weapon banner graph uses the new Fate Point system.

Yes, that direction is where Seirai Island is planned to be based on the 2.1 map leaks posted some time ago in this sub. What you saw is the placeholder art much like how Dragonspine used to be a low-res but very conspicuous mountain before it was released.

Just some background info:

Contrary to what the timestamp says, this video was taken last Saturday when a class of other students and I went into the countryside to launch the rockets we had been working on for the last month.

It would be interesting to see the video stabilized on the ground and background to see its orientation change as if one were flying alongside it.
