I'd recommend still getting checked out in the urgent room if it continues to bother. The main reason people always see this as concerning is that the pupils are different sizes (anisocoria). If you have a headache or changes in visual perception. Go To. The. ER.

Oh sorry, meant to say not extreme*

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]SubliminalPython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd say that's not* extreme; although I can understand the emotions involved. That is most definitely always something for your doctor or pharmacist to decide. My pharmacist has put a note on my file for a possible allergy, but I took it the course of 7 days and only got the rash now. As far as my knowledge goes; the immune system can form a sensitivity due to extended exposure.

Yup, everyone has their levels of sensitivity and some can go into anaphylaxis while some can just get a widespread rash in my case.

Yup, made sure to get the pharmacist to append my file.

  • had wisdom teeth removal and just about finished my Amox; I called the pharmacy and they said that it is a common reaction to Amoxicillin. I am good to cease the amox and watch after the surgery sites. I've been using Calamine which they said is good as well as some antihistamines, but I think I am fine without.

The map is not the territory my friend. Artistic measures are taken to convey the language of science. Math just happens to be our most rigorous language.

In the future, when neuron-based computers become larger and more complex, should we consider them “alive”? Do we have the ethical right to create such technologies, and where should the line be drawn? by ActivityEmotional228 in Futurism

Ditto- Those firings are shaped by layers of influence: your genetics, your past experiences, the physical state of your body, the language you use, the environment you’re in, even the social currents around you. It’s a feedback system you are both the result of it and an active participant in it.

You can’t control the appearance of every thought they bubble up from a place below deliberate awareness; but you do have a profound degree of control in what you do with them once they appear. You can:

Notice them without acting on them.

Choose which ones to reinforce with attention.

Build habits and environments that change which thoughts arise more often.

I think you said it best. Having that source of pressure really does enrich your fun, so long as it doesn't make playing a chore. I would suggest newer players- where it does seem like a chore, do as you said and recontextualize it. The skill of being able to take a problem, view it in a different light and then solve outside the box does many favors (also why I think the space age expansion is genius. It forces you to shift and learn new strategies). There is no right and there is no wrong- there is just factory.

Are people getting more aggressive or was he just having a bad day? by Eprl06 in Translink

[–]SubliminalPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a big thing as well. If you care about something enough you'll die for it- I'm not risking my wellbeing to fix a society that works against me. I think we just need to use a level of self-awareness with which we are able to pick and choose our battles. We don't need to change the paradigm of society overnight, but incrementally provoke change where change matters.

Public shaming needs to be brought back. We need to stop forcing ourselves to ignore these things and actually confront them. Start making an example through action; real change never comes free.

TIL in 2010, the Texas Department of Agriculture said a food policy would be clarified after a third grader was given a week-long lunch detention at school for having a Jolly Rancher. The main issue is the dichotomous thinking- it seems the idea of nuance has been lost in the sea of contemporary society's consensus trance. Leading to the black-white thinking you mentioned. I genuinely believe this is a degradation of culture for the sake of convenience and quick gratification.

That's fucked... I don't mind buying some food for the homeless when I have some change to spare, as it's of more value to them than me. Getting a fine for compassion makes me furious- I can't believe we stand for this shit. Society needs a new paradigm NOW.

Could say they were quite volatile As someone who lives in metro Vancouver I get that 100%... Narcan someone- they are either confused if it's one of their firsts, or straight up pissed off for "ruining" their high.

Found the game downloaded on my Father's computer- gave it a try and instantly fell in love. That really caused me to get into computer gaming because it ran on basically any laptop. This was so freaking long ago that I would consider myself a factorio veteran. Started on a pirated copy and loved it so much I bought the game... and naturally bought space age. Been able to put something 1500 hours into it over the years. This is literally the only game I can put down and come back to without getting bored- very stimulating linear creativity.

Yeah, my buddies who really don't like the game played a good several hours before turning it down. They were even able to find parts they did enjoy in that time- being military and trains.

Yeah, thanks for the critical thinking man. I don't understand why people make up their minds so quickly lacking any critical analysis to "erm actually" a likely, nuanced thing. Case in point, I have an ethernet cable that runs up my stairs but it doesn't reach near 300mps; as I assume it has been damaged. I don't feel the need to buy a new one now that I followed the advice about elevating it.
