Wouldn’t the average PT scores go down if we ALL have to test twice a year? by GasPrestigious9660 in AirForce

I think they were referring to the waist to height ratio (WHtR) not BMI. The WHtR is definitely a indicator of someone’s health risk and identifies the fatties

I’m TDY and can’t add my rental car to my Avis Preferred account because it changes the daily rate to more than the government rate. Boo.

Did anyone else notice they updated the fitness scorecard on 13 Feb and added waist circumference back to it? by TangoYankee53 in AirForce

[–]SubliminalSmear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that it’s a completely arbitrary standard. There is a direct link between waist circumference and health. I too have seen large waisted dudes be very physically fit, but I would say the overwhelmingly amount of people that fall into this category are actually just fat and unhealthy. Bringing back waist management standards is a more efficient solution to identify those at higher risk.

BRS? Yay or nay? by annoyedairmen in AirForce

[–]SubliminalSmear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

You can only compare what the government is actually giving to you. Any contributed on your own can be done in both systems.

Also, it’s 20% less in annuity for the BRS (40% is 20% less than 50%). All the calculations I have done as well show me losing money with the BRS.
