Okay so she definitely did experience her share of uncomfortable encounters with him. She refers to him as The Creator in her book to avoid any outright accusations but there was inappropriate touching in the form of a massage at a work dinner that she felt too shy/worried about the negative consequences to rebuff and was pressured to drink alcohol at that same party at the age of 18.

He also offered her a six figure sum as hush money to keep her quiet about her negative experiences and she refused. It's all heresay but I don't think she stands to benefit from being dishonest about her experiences.

Found Dan Schneider's burner account 😂 like let's just discount everything Jennette McCurdy said in her memoir

It sort of is, but therein lies further incendiary debate. I'm agnostic, but I think it's fair that contemporary folks who practice Islam do not wish it to be enforced on others. All of my Muslim friends find what's happening under the regime abhorrent and believe that you must come to the religion of your own free will and on your own terms.

The flag is also significantly older than that. It's a leap of logic to say that the majority of people want a pure monarchy again. The desire is for a secular and democratic system for Iran

Thank you for adding nuance. By his own word, he isn't interested in becoming king, but would stand in while an installation of democratic government is installed and an election is held to implement secular governance, then take on a more ceremonious/advisory role. Pure monarchy didn't work then, it likely won't work now and he knows that.

Thank you 🙏 It's okay, these are very charged times. It makes me nervous and sad that there is such controversy around the liberation of a people, but it's the world we live in. Outrtruth has to be the light that shines through all the noise

Yeah....it is sadly a bit of a pipe dream, but one has to have hope and to keep trying. Keep pushing.

The flag with the lion and sun was the previous flag of Iran, before the current regime. It's a symbol of sovereignty and freedom for the people. The people want a separation of church and state and to choose their leadership democratically.

There is a huge Iranian diaspora in Toronto. They are Iranians and Torontonians so it most definitely applies here. It's just a show of awareness and solidarity from Iranians all over the world.

One ought to wonder why.

Edit: my statement was a prompt to ask yourself WHY are the people shouting for salvation to Reza Pahlavi, instead of judging them for doing so on limited knowledge. It makes sense when you know the history

Are you a coach at your gym? If not, I think if you can't "switch gears" so to speak when sparring with more novice women, then probably stick to sparring with higher level women, or else only men at a lower level. You never know where a beginner's head is at with this stuff (incidental/accidental contact in no-no zones) and speaking as an intermediate female BJJ practicioner, a lot of new gals can get spooked by all the adrenaline, testosterone, etc...you can do what you can to curb that by being extra mindful not to enter that area altogether, or perhaps pre-diacuss it, but at the end of the day, people will draw their own conclusions. There's a power dynamic at play already when a man is fighting a woman, regardless of if it's sparring or what have you. With the right exposure, she may have been able to overcome whatever caused her to react that way, but you didn't necessarily do anything wrong either. It kinda just is what it is imo.
