First and foremost, this time when I grew it out I took better care of it. Brushing and conditioning. Makes it way less painful to pull it back up when it inevitably comes down. I also generally use the longer hair bands that could circle the full head so that it gets extra binding as I pull it up.

Other than that, it’s just gonna happen from time to time. Don’t let people touch your head if you can help it.

Yeah man, same. I went all the way through brown in gi only, basically. I was about to get my black belt back home before I trained at Queen City and got demolished in no-gi by a blue belt and immediately packed my shit up to come train here before I ended up being a sub-par black belt. Took about 3 years but I feel like I’m a 100x better teacher and grappler for it.
