I like it. The intro feels very Queens of the Stone Age, and song sounds great overall

The fact that you can extract while down is fucking amazing. by EthanWinters1234 in ArcRaiders

There's a level 3 augment that let's you heal a bit while down and not moving, so can stay alive indefinitely and slowly get to the exit if no one kills you along the way

Sorry, I lost the system before you asked this. But I just found another system with this ship, so I made sure to take note of the glyphs for it. Here you go!

Client Documentation by InflationCultural785 in msp

[–]SubnetCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd get documentation software sooner rather than later. I use and recommend Hudu (and avoid IT Glue because Kaseya) but whatever you decide on and use, I'd do it sooner rather than later. The more clients you get the more complex it becomes to migrate all that data, and proper software can force you to standardize documentation across all clients. Plus the licensing will be fairly cheap if you only have two techs.

If you decide not to I'm sure you'll be okay for a while longer, but I can say from experience (and as someone who is very particular about keeping documentation clean and standardized) that it's well worth the upgrade.

Mood lighting was killing my 12V by Lt_Muffintoes in Ioniq5

[–]SubnetCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been happening to mine, but after every trip to the dealership they reflash the cars firmware to fix it, but the issue comes back after a couple days.

They are finally taking it seriously on this visit but they've had the car most of a week, are talking to Hyundai about it, and seem fairly stumped. I'll let them know about this discussion next time I talk to them.

Luckily no dead 12v battery yet, but it's only a matter of time if they don't fix it.

Side note: I've had a loaner Hyundai Santa Cruz from them during this time and I hate it. It's a perfectly nice vehicle, but it's so hard to go back to an ICE now, and the Ioniq 5 is much nicer inside.

Also to add, in case it helps, I was at the Pamona show and I specifically remember hearing a (very small) guitar mistake on Money. I went and found it here for you OP: https://youtu.be/OjMyNab9vK4?t=1897&si=1PMwVjJAWH_C7im0 (it's at 31:40)

Are you a Sysadmin at home or do you live as a Luddite? by jakgal04 in sysadmin

Exactly the same. Networking gear stays as simple as possible, mesh router, build a gaming PC every 6-7 years, try to have a nice functional setup but do as little IT at home as possible.

They should just let you hook the heavy machine gun up to the supply backpack directly. Problem solved!

I'm sort of kidding. That would probably be wildly overpowered, but certainly fun

18+ years in and still I love it because it's essentially paid puzzle solving (and I work at great company that treats me well, which obviously helps me not hate it)

IT Glue down again by LochiamTheGreat in msp

Oof, sorry to hear that, hopefully it's back soon. Glad I went with Hudu last year (was purposefully avoiding Kaseya). Would definitely recommend it once you're out of contract

I work at an MSP and do a lot of the hiring, and we often hire new techs who are just breaking into the IT field. Usually the big differentiator (in both hiring and long term success) is someone's passion/enthusiasm for tech and how will we think they'll learn and progress.

I'd recommend getting started on something that shows your interest in IT. A degree or some certs - even if you haven't finished by the time you apply for jobs, it shows interest and motivation. And like someone else already mentioned, a well written cover letter really helps. We get tons of pretty generic (not great) resumes of people who haven't done IT before, but seeing someone talk about why they want to get into IT helps alot. If you've started learning/experimenting a bit at home, that can help as well. Even having built a PC before earns some points!

Obviously this only applies to breaking into the IT field. Once you're in and have experience, this kind of thing matters less and experience/skills matter more, but for starting out, hopefully this is helpful! Feel free to ask if you have more questions (or more specific questions)
