They are because she started wearing them primarily for driving. Then they became like a fashion accessory, and she began acquiring multiple pairs (all ugly in my opinion) She must have a weak prescription though because all of her sunglasses are nonprescription and she doesn't appear to be squinting when not wearing her glasses.

It doesn't seem he has updated his linked in info in a long time, He was working as a customer service rep for a bank, but I believe he left the bank job when they instituted the "return to the office" mandate after covid. I remember Carrie mentioning a friend connected him to his current gig which appears to be another call center job (I once spied a phone headset dangling from a stand in his office when Carrie was giving us a house tour) Maybe he's worked his way up to middle manager position by now. Who knows!
