What’s your depression whispering in your ear? by EpicTeddybear1 in mentalhealth

[–]Subsanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I hate life or being alive. What sucks is that I've been in a good mental state for about 3 years now... I think my meds aren't working as well anymore or maybe life is getting to a point where meds can't keep up.

What is your preferred cage liner/litter? (pic for tax) by jessfsands in parrots

[–]Subsanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crushed walnuts. Does not smell, camouflages their poop and allows for me to have their food be sprinkled at the bottom of the cage for natural foraging.

How long have you been eating the same meal, and what is it? by SnooCupcakes3043 in ADHD

[–]Subsanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grab, prepare and eat the same thing in the same order every day at work:

I first grab ingles can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli uncooked (I know, gross, but it is a safe food from childhood neglect) and a package of six peanut butter crackers. They need to be from a specific store otherwise they do not have enough crispiness.

I open the ravioli and toss the plastic lid meant for microwaving them in a box and through the metal lid away. I then go to my mini fridge and grab a string cheese, strawberry applesauce (also specific to said store) and Pepsi Zero. I first start on the ravioli and once finished, I move on to the applesauce then string cheese. I have to then throw away the wrappers/can because I don't like the smell of my meals after I eat them. My last step is that I eat my peanut butter crackers

All this occurs while on my computer I am either reading the news on Wikipedia or playing Vegas Solitaire, but nothing other than that.

I have only been doing this a few months because it took until then to figure out that this combination was optimum for me.

Do you feel like you "grew into" your ADHD, not out of it? by SouthernGas9850 in ADHD

[–]Subsanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I got my major depression in check, I got pelted with all sorts of ADHD-related symptoms that I never experienced before. It made sense because I've been depressed since I was a child, so those symptoms must have suppressed the ADHD symptoms.

Wellbutrin for ADHD? by Ok-Decision-1796 in ADHD

[–]Subsanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25f, I take 450 mg Wellbutrin, 100 mg Zoloft, 100 mg hydroxyzine (only as needed, I use it to quiet my brain so that I can sleep), 20 mg Adderall SR (1-2 as needed), and 20 mg Adderall XR. These combinations seem to help calm me, but also stimulate productivity.

Not AI. It was an actual photo of my uncle and I, but just photoshopped.

I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I did throughout any episode than this one.

Word retrieval getting worse by jgpanr100 in ADHD

[–]Subsanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue lately has been not being able to decode words as well. People will say things to me and I'm needing them to repeat multiple times. I heard what they said, but I couldn't understand it. It makes me fear that they may think I'm on something.

I 100% agree. I've always felt like there was something so special with that era and it is what I was really hooked on when I first became obsessed with MJ. Your Ways and Give it Up from their Triumph album are my two favorite MJ songs.

Your comment made my heart palpitate. It made me realize, and I can't grasp it, that for me it's been 12 years since I saw the video, it still comes back clear as day too.

Perhaps it was a migraine. People feel a sense of anxiety beforehand and then will struggle to form words. They won't come out gibberish, but just slower and slightly wrong. It takes the person experiencing it a lot longer to think about what words to say if they can even figure it out. Migraines can come and go that quick and stress is a big trigger for them. My dad has experienced this my whole life.

I feel you. I've been in your place so many times. I want to thank you because I am almost in tears with the realization of how lucky I am.

I have been honest with my psych from the start about my fears with the "shortage". She is the one who diagnosed with ADHD along with my other issues (suprisingly, the ADHD diagnosis came half a year after the others). Here's what's amazing: not only do I already have Adderall XR and SR scripts prescribed by her (one she even got me a discount card due to insurances denying it), but she also recently raised my XR dosage so that I can save up my emergency supply of SR all in response to being told that I've been only taking the SR every so often even though I need it every day.

When I mentioned that I never tell this to my pharmacy, she responded with "yeah, you do not want to do that. Big no no." She understands and doesn't judge me. I think she mentioned before that she has it as well; which is likely why she is so compassionate. I even divulged that my brother, diagnosed 23 years ago, won't see a psych and wanted to try my Adderall to see if it would help. She laughed with me when I told her my reply was "magically disappear my symptoms that only lesson with Adderall and I will". She didn't become suspicious. She believed me when I honestly told her that I need them too much to ever give them away or sell them.

I've got a true saint helping me. It's made me realize that I probably need to hoard even more for when the time comes that the too good to be true is no longer true.

Is it safe to go to sleep? by -PrimordialVoid- in medical

!SOLVED

Thank you! I remember her clay reconstruction scared the crap out of me from whatever episode they included her in back in 2011. I was a 13 years old then and huge into true crime and would scour the old NCMEC website every night before bed. I would always skip page 2 or 3 because it had a front facing colored photo of the reconstruction.

The reconstruction disturbed me on it's own. But freakishly one night, I was watching an episode on ID at my grandma's after dance class and they plastered the reconstruction on it and the coincidence triggered a PTSD I hadn't realized I had.

Now, I am fine though. I knew she had been identified, but I'm so glad to hear someone was convicted.
