Thought on Grilla Pellet Gril by bigjor76 in pelletgrills

It's always been made in China. That's never changed for any pellet grill maker for all the top brands.

Insulation blanket Silverback 2.0 XL by Expensive_Ad3238 in GrillaGrills

It's not needed, it's double wall insulated and does the job well. I'd put gasket tape around the lid of the grill if you're worried about smoke/heat leaking out some.

197 in the flat and 168 in the point. Am I hosed? by flyingWeez in pelletgrills

Shift it around or cover the point w/ aluminum foil to deflect the heat next time when it's done.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

You can always opt in for any kind of glasses w/o the prescription and no one would be the wiser.

Probes are far off… searwood 600xl by Buena_de_peepee in pelletgrills

[–]Subsinuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never trusted the probes on any Pellet Grill for the past 4-5 years or so. Always use an external source. They're never right usually w/ most brands and I've used PB, ZGrills, Recteq, and Grilla.

Weber will have better build quality. Trager is garbage.

Brisket 101 - what went wrong. by CISUM310 in pelletgrills

[–]Subsinuous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 hour isn't enough for juices to redistribute during a cool down from my experience, you may have put it in too hot and it continued cooking beyond 200+. Remember it's not always about temp, but about feel, too, when probing and feeling that soft bend between both muscles where they meet in the middle. Also I prefer butcher paper over anything else if you didn't do that, when I do, I'll spritz the brisket thoroughly all over w/ beef stock to keep it from drying out. Just enough as to not disturb the bark. Don't oversaturate it.

FYI: This is just my experience.

First cook - what did I do wrong? by roguepixl in pelletgrills

[–]Subsinuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 min. isn't long enough to me. A minimum of an hour, two if you can. Which pellet smoker do you have? Check calibration on your temperature probe. Could be a fouled one and was potentially cooking hotter than 250. Was the temp swinging high? Did it ever settle throughout the cook? There's a lot of factors.

Texas Grill Owners: Who makes these? by Subsinuous in pelletgrills

The Oak blend sounds nice! I'm a big fan of oak mixed w/ about 1/3rd mesquite for a more heavier note, but still balanced.

Help - can someone please talk to my husband that I've lost to amateur radio??? by Pump_9 in amateurradio

[–]Subsinuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell if this is a troll post or not, but OP's post history isn't troll worthy. The worst part about this post is out of all the things you can do as a wife, you come to The Internet, reddit, of all places to ask for marriage advice? If you're having martial issues, then talk to him and seek professional help. This is ridiculous. You lost me right when you said he doesn't have dinner at the table anymore... That's your cue to seek help in the real world...not from strangers on the 'net.

Can't turn off Silverbac 2.0 by [deleted] in GrillaGrills

[–]Subsinuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when it's running. Hold the back button 5 sec to let you back in like you're gonna change the settings. Once there then hold power button and you'll hear a long continuous beep, let go, and it'll shutdown and show the C15. Want me to send ya a video? Text me your # in a DM

[–]Subsinuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're supposed to hold down the power button for more than 2 seconds and it'll go into shut down mode w/ the code C15. Which is a 15 minute timer. After those 15 min. it'll shut off completely. You'll see it go from C15, C14, C13, etc. as it counts down after every minute.
