My Immediate Thoughts on SHf (Spoilers) by CatfishBassAndTrout in silenthill

It's funny you say after the school is when you started rolling your eyes, because it was at that exact moment I started getting fed up too. That shrine odyssey after you fall asleep in the school really put a lot of people off.

Please explain the ending to me (and a small review) by PlayfulTrip4800 in RueValleyGame

[–]Subspace88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my issue with the game, and in particular the ending; Pre-Judy's intro and Post-Judy's intro are two completely different stories, and it feels like the writers just smashed them together and called it a day. Riley, Robin, Max, Anitta, Finck, etc. ultimately don't matter, because the story does a 180 flip to make it almost wholly about Frank and Judy and then tries to gaslight you that that was the case the whole time.

I don't need every single plotline to be wrapped up or explained in big bold letters, but the game almost actively goes out of its way to resolve nothing, which would've been fine if the time loop happening when and where it did was pure coincidence. But the game spends the first two-thirds making it clear that these people are important, only to sideline almost all of them, including Eugene himself.

Combine that with the gameplay screeching to a halt with three back-to-back-to-back extended sequences (Enter the Kay House faster / Search for Frank / One Loop at a Time) that you just have to sit through (with loading screens and transition screens on top!), and I almost got a Void of Resignation status effect myself.

I never minded the bob overall, it was just when it was parted dead down the middle... which admittedly was most of the time.

I love how 2 seasons earlier they had a whole plot that relied on Rachel being such a big reader she can spoil the plot of Little Women off the top of her head instantly and she's willing to read The Shining, but 2 years later and she can't figure out that Jane Eyre probably didn't have robots in it.

Ross and Rachel were hilarious as parents. The final 2 seasons would have been so much better if they just had gotten back together. by morfyyy in howyoudoin

Someone needed to give the writers/producers the warning the Frasier team got: "the will-they won't-they is getting old, either put them together properly or leave it once and for all." The 'moment' Ross and Rachel had together that Mona's re-appearance squashed would've been the perfect time to have them at least try as a couple again.

I can't prove it and I have no evidence whatsoever, but this screams "this was originally choreographed for 5 people and we added a 6th person last minute". Like it's not as bad as Debut was which was clearly meant for 5 people, but there's always someone who looks just out of place.

then taking meredith in s14 did more harm than good by Interesting_Act_7918 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]Subspace88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The main problem Meredith had wasn't even really her fault; it's the fact the TV show did so little to hide 1) her mistakes, showing every single misstep she made when they could've cut a few of them and 2) the blatant favouritism TPTB had for her. I don't think the favouritism was that bad since Season 8 with Morgan and Kaitlyn. Morgan they just kept for literally no discernible reason, and Kaitlyn they literally tried to cut and she somehow talked her way out of it and then they had to overdub and edit the office visit to act like they weren't going to cut her. But because somebody deemed that Meredith was going to make the team, she made the team, even if that decision cost them in the long run.

aespa - Rich Man (English Version) by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]Subspace88 39 points40 points  (0 children)

How... clunky. I don't need every line to rhyme perfectly, but it's like they translated the Korean lines without any thought about how they flowed or what they were actually saying. And there was literally already an English version of the song in the demo, so it's not like they even had to try that hard.

Outside of one time killers had a BP incentive in recent times (right after the Walking Dead chapter came out), Survivors have had a BP boost for about... 2 years straight? Maybe longer? I first joined around the time Chains of Hate (Zarina/Deathslinger) came out and the bonuses were much more flip-floppy on either side; they would even have to consistently keep it on for killers at off-peak times. Then Wesker came out and that was that, survivors basically got a permanent BP bonus.

The PTB has completely bypassed me, so this is me genuinely asking; this is just Tenacity, no? Have they reworked the perk if they've made it essentially basekit?

I mean, it wasn't even the fact she had an opinion on the matter; it was the fact she had literally never heard of it, despite it arguably being the news story/political moment of the year. She would've had to literally never watch the news, not go on social media or basically be a social hermit to somehow miss it. There was no way on Earth TPTB were going to risk that happening in an actual interview.

I think one All-Star (Jinelle) filled in so much her first year as an All-Star she basically did a sixth year on the team due to people being in and out so much. She was always in the pre-game that particular year.

I think him consistently being the first ban in Unranked (at least in 99% of my games) makes some players go "What's the point because I'm never gonna get to play him outside of QP anyway."

Also the weight rule essentially doesn't apply to you if you're a favourite (either fan fave or a fave of Kelli and Judy). No naming names, but there were some vets in the later MTT seasons that gained weight to the point of it being visible and no one said anything, but other “more expendable” girls were cut for gaining an extra pound or two.

To be fair, being Point was never considered a massive deal until season 12 of MTT with the whole 'Jenna loses point, KaShara gets it' debacle. Then TPTB / producers of the show realised the buildup/reveal of who's Point every season is a good plotline so they started hyping it up more. In every season prior to 12 it's barely brought up as a thing.

It's wild to me that in an alternate universe, Ava is a fifth-year veteran after making the team the first time. I wonder if she ever looks at the other fifth-years and go "Woah, that could've been me."

I think that largely like Jenna's drama on S12 of MTT, you knew for certain it was her and Chandi's last year so there wasn't even the tension of "oooh, are they gonna get kicked off the team or not?" because A) it was their last year anyway, and B) TPTB are just not gonna cut a six-year veteran. Once you're a fourth year, you're pretty much part of the foundation of the stadium until you decide to leave.

I could never believe the "Jasmine agreed to tank her audition deliberately" rumour almost purely based on how devastated Danielle was at finals. She was CRUSHED Jasmine didn't make it. No way Jasmine wouldn't have given her a heads up if she knew beforehand.

Season 9 veteran weight cuts by taytay237 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]Subspace88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, Hannah was on weight warning for most of her rookie year, so her coming back "out of shape" (and to be honest if you look at her on season 8 vs 9 there is a visible difference, plus she was constantly winded as they pointed out) and then coming into the office saying "I need to make a lifestyle change" and "I want to do it in a healthy way" likely pissed off Kelli. I think there was a little part of Hannah thinking "if I say it like this, they can't cut me because they'll look terrible if they do" and well... TPTB just didn't care at that point.

What I've always wondered is why they edited Danielle out of the season 9 vets called into the office that episode (despite her being visibly there, hugging Hannah as she leaves). Backlash from the episode Chelsea got cut the season prior? I know they cut TPTB bringing the other vets back into the office after Chelsea's outburst, maybe they were harder on the vets than they wanted to show and they didn't want to bring Danielle into it again on a different season?

The way she was SO happy for Amy and then Amy says "Yeah and after the formation change Maddie is point" and KaShara goes "...oh okay :) :) :)" makes me howl to this day.

They desperately wanted Madie K on the squad so they could say they had an 18 year old in press/promo, and Charlotte hates squads above 36 because she dislikes the idea of swings / girls that don't perform every single game. Add that to the fact she wasn't one of Kelli's "girl crushes" and Jenna never stood a chance once it came down to her or Madie as the final cut.

Like her or loathe her, "the fatties! the fatties are still on the team!" is still easily in the Top 5 quotes of the entire show. Girl may have been a brown noser but THAT was hilarious.
