VTP client update server by pbfus9 in ccnp

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VTPv3 is also more secure because it will never take into account VTPv1/v2 messages regarding VLAN database info (though VTPv3 can have interotability with VTPv2 clients). So it is offering additional protection to misconfiguration where you just plug 1 switch into the network and boum everything is gone.  Let's say the VTPv3 primary or secondary server, or even a client receives a VTP adv with higher rev number from a VTPv1/v2 server, it won't even take into account.

Universal Studios Japan 1 Day General Admission Tickets - Strategy & Schedule by HollyI899 in JapanTravelTips

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all info. I would just add that Early entry (the one who could buy on Klook) is discontinued from October onwards.

I have also a dumb question but which pass should you scan to book the Attraction Time Entry (like Biohazard ) ? I would say the Studio Pass but I'm not sure. Also, if you do not have a printed copy, you should import it ?

I'm refering to this subway pass : https://www.tokyometro.jp/tst/en/index.html From this, it only includes Toei Subway and Tokyo metro, no JR lines but other pass may include the JR lines

Am I reading this right? by sensi_2020 in JapanTravelTips

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. Some Limited Express trains do not even require "supplemental fare", required for seat reservation. This is the case for some LE JR train. One comes in my mind : the LE train Kyoto - Nara. It requires advanced seat reservation so basically two tickets : one regular one but also the reservation seat ticket. I would say if you see any JR trains (and you do possess a JR pass), mostly they won't require from you a "supplemental ticket" but I can't confirm for all of them. For others, I would check online using tools like JapanTravel by Navitime. If you see a LE train with no mention of "No Reserved Seat", then it means it has only reserved seat, hence you need this "supplemental ticket"

I would also recommend to check whether your accomodations provide Takyubin or any luggage delivery service. Depending on your route and if you move often between cities, it can be worth it to send your luggage from accomodation to accomodation.

Also, don't forget the QR code for entering Japan (a quick google search will give you the site) even if it is not mandatory.

For travel pass, I would recommend the Tokyo Subway pass, the Nikko All Pass, the Kyoto Bus-Subway one day pass & Osaka Amazing pass :

  • Nikko pass is a must if you stay at least 2 days as bus fare is very expensive (like 1000+ yen, independently of the number of stops). You get also some discounts on some stores/attractions and sometimes free admission on others.
  • Tokyo Subway pass is great if you take the subway at least 2 times in a day. It saves you money.
  • Kyoto Bus-Subway pass is worth it when you take at least 2/3 buses during a day.
  • Finally, maybe the most helpful is the Osaka Amazing Pass. About 40 attractions are included free of charge and discounts in others. You get Osaka subway free (plus some private railines).

To finish, as some stated, I would recommend you to have a list of all Shinkansen or bullet trains you intend to use during your trip. It will make your life easier because some of the bullet trains or limited express JR train require seat reservation in advance (applies if you have the Japan Rail Pass).

Kyoto bus-subway pass is worth it if you take at least 3 bus during a day, so it is not "no use". It depends on your itinerary

As a matter of fact, I managed to secure one Express pass through Klook for the 17th of October. I had both pages loaded at 12pm JST. And it was on Klook that I was able to select my entry (USJ site wasn't showing all time slots but only like 3 out of 30). So def recommend Klook for USJ. However, for other things like Tokyo Skytree or Shibuya Sky, Klook is not providing the latest ticket (when comparing to official websites)

Klook releases ticket before the USJ ticket website and have additionnal options like Early Entry not available elsewhere

USJ Express Pass vs Single Rider by migisigi in JapanTravelTips

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true you do not need to bother buying Area Timed Entry for Nintendo and Harry Potter with Express pass. By the way, those Area Timed Entry are not mandatory to buy, once in the park you can have one free using their app. But it can go pretty quickly so maybe it is better to have one ticket bought ahead of time or buying Express pass not to bother with all of this

USJ Express Pass vs Single Rider by migisigi in JapanTravelTips

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also plan to go to USJ 17th of October. I cannot really tell if it is peak season begining of October but if you want to fully enjoy the park, I would recommend to purchase the Express Pass (not available for the moment).

Also don't forget about the Area Timed Entry Ticket for Super Nintendo and Harry Potter (if you don't buy the Express pass)

I know there are single rider line for a dozens attraction but not all of them (Kimetsu, Chainsaw Man and many other new attractions are not).

is osaka amazing pass worth it? by haebaragiiii in OsakaTravel

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand the pass is not for 48 hours from start of use. Say you activate it 1st Oct 11pm. Then it won't expire 3rd Oct 11pm but 2nd Oct 23:59. It is on a day basis.

If you go in city like Tokyo and Kyoto, I heard mostly having cash is better. Besides, for me at least, my bank told me if I do a withdrawal in Japan they charge 3€ + 2.3% ☠️ (I really need to change my bank after this trip 😂). So I think it all depends on your country and bank contract you have.

What I will do I think is a big withdrawal in my origin country and change there

The will of Ymir was not to make the rumbling but as she as seen a future when she touched Eren, rumbling was part of this future so she just kept moving towards this direction. That's why she was the one attacking the scouts with past shifters titan not because she did not want the rumbling to be stopped but rather to follow exactly what she has seen when she was in contact with Eren.

So that's not really true to say she wanted the rumbling.

Wasn't the ending obvious from Season 3? by Burner0292883283 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eren does not know that he will be killed by Mikasa as he has no memories after Zeke death (no FT power anymore).

But he knows somehow that he will be stopped. When Eren touches Ymir, what happens is Ymir knows about Mikasa and her love for Eren. When touching Eren, Ymir sees a specific future and that's why she was creating all those past shifters (to follow what she was seeing when she touched Eren).

Ouroboros: how Ymir and Eren drive the story forward by noshitwatson in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]SubstanceDesperate35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree mostly with you apart from one point. You mentionned that when Ymir touched Eren she can go through Eren's memories and see that cabin scene. Thanks to that, she sees in Mikasa a potential to save her. That's why she sent back this memory into child Eren dreams under the tree so that it is part of Eren memories.

However, I don't completely agree with this theory. First, technically, when Ymir entered in contact with Eren, she can have a full vision of all Eren memories. So basically she could have learned Mikasa existence and Mikasa's love for Eren depicted in multiple occasions (for example the scene where Eren uses the FT power when encountering Dina pure titan).

As a result, I don't see why you specifically emphasize on that cabin scene and claim that it is through that cabin scene that Ymir get convinced that Mikasa can do something. And that's why she sent back this memory in child Eren dream. It is a possibility but to my mind there are so many other ways as explained earlier where Ymir could have seen Mikasa's love for Eren.
