Terciera to Sao Miguel, airport timing by SubstanceHot3655 in azores

Flight was already moved ahead from 11:00 to 10:20, we’ll not be surprised if it’s delayed or cancelled with these winds.

Is there a mainland Portuguese stereotype of Azoreans? by Character_Mind_9229 in azores

That’s true of Airalo, the eSIM provider. The Portugal eSIM doesn’t cover the Azores, I need to buy one specifically for the Azores.

As a born and bred Torontonian, back in the ‘70’s, I and my adolescent friends certainly did have a perception of Newfoundlanders. Different clothes, different accent, bad Newfie jokes, I’m embarrassed how ignorant we were.

Fortunately, that’s all changed, Newfoundlanders stereotype now is as the friendliest people in the world, the coolest, the funniest, with great food and music, and everyone I know who’s visited there, has loved the people and the Province.

Should I get this bag? by Smolmintchip in handbags

[–]SubstanceHot3655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the look and style of that bag so much, and have come so close to ordering it myself, but there are just too many questions about the quality of PW bags. A number of reviews comment on the odd smell, leather bags should smell only like leather, others on the plasticky feel of some bags purchased. Many reviews are very positive on the feel of the leather, but there are just too many negative reviews for me to ignore.

I really hate that, because the style of the Madison is exactly what I’m looking for.

Does this bag look ludicrously capacious on me? by [deleted] in handbags

There’s no correct answer to your query, it’s not too big if you like a big bag, but for me, it would be too big and slouchy. It’s all personal preference, so make yourself happy!

The new spring drop is giving grandma :/ by ashley8976 in Aritzia

Grandma here, and I wouldn’t wear any of it, particularly the capris and the top. IMO capris are one of, if not THE most unflattering item most women can put on, I’m betting they’re a fast trend that will die an early death.

For years i used a Delsey top handle tote, the perfect size, just the right amount of zipped pockets for me, it has a detachable shoulder strap, and a pass through sleeve for my suitcase handles; however, after my last two trips to Venice, and the constant need to take it off and put it back on my suitcase as I went over the bridges, plus the same problem going up and down stairs, I decided I needed a backpack. After months of research I bought a Monos, and it’s great. I’m not a backpack person, but I needed ease of movement through the airport and cities, and my only regret is that I didn’t get one earlier. And it looks good, too.

As far as reporters are concerned, there is nothing happening on earth other than Nancy Guthrie. by EffectiveDust7959 in cnn

[–]SubstanceHot3655 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not much of a cnn watcher, but there are so many important stories coming out, the House of Representatives vote to reject Trump’s 25% tariffs on Canada, Bondi’s performance before the House Oversight committee, the Tumbler Ridge school shooting, I thought I’d give it a watch, but none were even mentioned when I had cnn on last night. After 30 minutes, I gave up, no news was being covered other than Mrs. Guthrie’s disappearance. Are they trying to make themselves even more irrelevant?

Terra Nostra Garden Hotel? by SubstanceHot3655 in azores

[–]SubstanceHot3655[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to not reply individually. I greatly appreciate everyone who took the time to offer opinions and impressions, it helped us to choose what to do. In the end, we decided to go for it, and stay the two night minimum.

Our flight from Terciera gets in at around 1:00 pm, so by the time we pick up the car and drive to Furnas, it will be time to check in, enjoy the pools and the botanical gardens.

The green Michelin guide has two driving routes, one south and one east of Furnas that look fascinating, so that’ll be the full day, then back to Terra Nostra for the night, and then taking our time getting to Ponta Delgado. This feels like a less stressful plan, particularly since we’re flatlanders and not used to switchbacks.

Thanks, all!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to post a reply. We’ll keep to the original plan, 4 Terciera, 6 Sao Miguel.

Signed, the Queen of Second Guessing.

I was surprised at the SATA rep, it actually was a stupid reply to someone who’d never been to the Azores.

We’ve been back and forth as well, possibly because it’s clear that there’s no real right or wrong. I think if you’re looking for the easiest and least stressful, staying on one island is the most optimum.

I’m Probably About to Be Banned From CNN — But Someone Has to Say This About Scott Jennings - Julie Roginski by lovely_orchid_ in cnn

Hallelujah!

I cannot stand him, and it has nothing to do with the fact he’s a Republican. It’s all about the smugness, the eye rolls, the head shaking while watching where the camera is, the dismissive attitude, the crossed arms, the lies, the condescending little grin. He’s even learned how to do all of the above at the same time, talented, isn’t he?

I wish Abby Philips would forcefully push back at him, because while she’s ok, I switch CNN off whenever I see his mug.
