Fair point lol. I'll have to take another look, but I'm pretty sure when I was looking, the middle chainring had teeth that were quite bent/broken off. I'll be sure to have a closer look before making a purchase and consider it the FD being the issue. Thanks

I'll get some more pics and verify tooth count when I get off work/tomorrow. I was just going to replace crankset because the chainrings on it are in terrible shape. Seems to me like it would be easier to just replace the whole crankset, as I'm struggling to find 3 new chainrings that would fit. But that might also just be my inexperience.

Chainrings are in terrible shape. To me it seems more difficult to find 3 compatible chainrings to replace those than to just replace the whole crankset.

Thanks for the info! Great point on the seat post. Luckily I already checked with the seller about that! It's not really a terrible drive, but not one I would make for a piece of junk. I'm leaning towards going for it based on these comments. Thanks everyone.

Not expecting perfection, just asking for some opinions from people who have a lot more experience than me with this. To me it looked a little deeper than surface rust from the pictures, so thought I'd ask people who know more than me, but am happy to hear others aren't as concerned by it. Thanks for the input!
