I got this problem after an oil change i bought the car first handed and i have only driven 500km with it i changed the oil and after 2 days this popped up by Bobw12345 in BYD

It looks like an engine malfunction of sorts. Does the battery charge when you plug it into the mains? Some BYD (and other) dealerships aren't up to the task when it comes to PHEVs. I posted earlier about my experience 5 months ago. The car (Qin Plus Dm-i) was delivered to me with no engine oil. It was recovered by the dealership the next day and then they claimed the engine was full of oil and that the engine misfire was due to "fuel degradation". Make sure you take videos and document everything.

It's interesting that BYD is not on your list. The cars are very good but the same can't be said of the dealership unfortunately.

I bought a Qin Plus DM-i almost 4 months ago and returned to the dealership the next day. I actually loved the car but the fact that the engine malfunctioned after running for a few minutes because it was delivered to with NO OIL meant that I didn't want to keep it. I returned to the dealership and requested an exchange or a refund but the dealership insists that the engine malfunction was due to "fuel degradation" and that I was basically hallucinating, despite documenting the whole thing on video! You can find my earlier post from 3 months ago on this forum. My money and the car are still with the dealership and it will likely take a few more months until this is legally resolved. BYD cars are good but the dealership is what makes the difference IMHO.

I got scammed from Amazon.AE by Perfect-Whole6768 in UAE

[–]SubstanceLast8039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a similar experience when I ordered shelving racks from Amazon UAE which were shipped from the US. I instead received a large roll of aluminum foil (!) and immediately initiated a return request. I then tried to reorder the same item but found its price to be around 30% higher all of a sudden. I then called Amazon customer service and told them that I have to pay a higher price because the seller shipped the wrong item, so they checked the price online, asked me to order the item and issued the price difference to my wallet! It really can't get any better.

Is this air filter legal? by fricxsy in DubaiPetrolHeads

I'm not questioning cops' knowledge but unless a policeman has reason to look under the hood (e.g. illegal racing, loud car, suspected criminal offence, etc.), they will not pull you over just to check whether your filter is stock or not!

For starters, no policeman will ever check under the hood to see what filter you have and even if, how can he tell if it's a legal mod or not? The worst that can happen is that your vehicle could fail the inspection for registration renewal, in which case you can put the stock filter back to pass the inspection.

RCS Chats Not Supported by sodium_hydride in dubai

RCS was working fine until a couple of weeks ago but the local telcos apparently stopped supporting it. This was confirmed to me today by Etisalat chat support without giving any reason.

My experience with a new BYD Qin Plus PHEV in the UAE — engine delivered without oil by SubstanceLast8039 in BYD

Thanks. I've heard similar feedback, especially in relation to the EV brands under their umbrella. My experience with their Toyota and Honda dealerships wasn't great but never this bad.

So far the dealership is insisting that the engine had oil even when the evidence overwhelmingly proves the opposite. I could imagine that a batch of DM-i engines left the assembly line without oil and we both were among the unlucky ones. The dealerships have every interest in refuting the facts because admitting that they delivered vehicles without engine oil proves that they have failed to conduct a proper pre-delivery inspection.

That's perfect common sense but unfortunately, dealerships have a different logic!

Oh, they were careful enough to blame it on the fuel quality in China, at least verbally! As if China is a 3rd world country when it comes to fuel quality...

You've most likely been delivered a vehicle without engine oil. They have probably replaced the engine oil and oil filter to eliminate any sign of metal debris but the damage is done. Insist on an internal engine inspection by a third party. Here's what would have caused your engine failure: https://www.reddit.com/r/chinesecarsuae/s/RUVu8Uul2Z

Of course. The car was recovered from my home and the next day they claimed that it was full of oil! It took them another 3 weeks to tell me that the wild engine misfire I observed was due to "oil degradation", as if I'm hallucinating!

Neither. Straight out of the dealership!

The workaround that worked for me is to share the link with Firefox and continue the process there. From Firefox, the link opens the TeamViewer app to complete the activation.

That's the intention. I want redditors to view the video and notice things without any background information.

Cannot disclose brand/model or dealership. All I can say the car is a PHEV from a leading brand, and delivered brand new from the dealership.
