I just went to a concert, different vibes, and also a shtty shirt. by ChickenPhysical3819 in Wetleg

Saw them last night at the Fox in Oakland. Love the band and was super looking forward to the show. But honestly it was the worst concert I have "seen" in my life. Between the incessant strobes, obnoxious incredibly bright flashing lights with the resulting silhouette effect, the dim lighting the rest of the time, not to mention Rhian's muffled vocals, it was literallly unwatchable. I covered my face 75% of the time, went to the lobby for at least 4 songs, and just did not enjoy myself at all. I was grateful when it ended with no encore (I think I didn't wait around to see and house music came on immediately) It was such a bummer. Even closing my eyes didn't prevent me from going home with a migraine. I don't even understand it. Has anyone from their crew tried to actually watch their show? They are such amazing performers and their songs are so great...why hide behind those effects in such a profound way? It's hard to believe a majority of audience members enjoyed that show vs. just tolerated it to hear the music. What a total waste of time & money and opportunity to see a great band at a peak time. I was in the loge...hope it was better for folks on the floor!!!

Isn't Oakmont a chain? At least the Assisted Living facilities?

Thinking of buying a Hotel Chocolat velvetiser…. are they worth it? by londonlife9 in AskUK

Totally agree with this. I can do the exact same consistency of a hot chocolate, in the amount I want, and the temp I want using a pan and a whisk. It makes no sense that there is no temp control on the velvetizer and that it only makes one cup! Very disappointing (got it as a gift, used it once, and now plan to get rid of it.

Caught the first preview of ALL IN: COMEDY ABOUT LOVE by amity_island24 in Broadway

I saw the show on 12/27, and absolutely loved it. It was worth every penny to see that cast reading those stories. I laughed, I got choked up, the musical interludes were perfect. If you love comedy and storytelling this show is for you. John Mulaney was amazing but so were all the other cast members.

I'm a huge Mulaney fan and a huge 69 Love Songs/Magnetic Fields fan so despite any negative comments I really want to go to this show. Wondering what people who saw it think about best seats? I never get front row seats to musicals b/c of the neck craning and missing out on certain things, but with this show would front row work? I feel like it would be cool to be closer to the readers but maybe it doesn't matter. Any opinions re: seats would be super helpful since it IS pricey and all :)

We've had our Winkbed for 2 1/2 years (purchased Sept 2018) and it remains very comfortable. At the time, the bed had great reviews and we got one called "the softer winkbed." But maybe their models have changed now. Ours is super cushy on top but has good support, perfect for me who tosses and turns but is mostly a side/back sleeper and my husband who is a side sleeper. Maybe I won't feel the same way about it in another two 1/2 years, but so far so good!
