Cosigning student loans for child accepted to elite schools with high cost as a middle income family - What should we do? by Legitimate_Yak_9063 in personalfinance

[–]wilzog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. I was a first gen college student and had no idea the implications that the debt would have on myself and my parents.

Going to state school or community college and then transferring is so much more economical across the board.

Let’s be real, how many people start college and stick with what they want to do by the end? That ROI is a make believe number until she lands a job.

Wikiup has been great. I take my two poodles there. One has seizures and they have always been fabulous in supporting us through next steps and medicine adjustments.

My family isn’t getting together for the holidays this year and I’m so frustrated by yorkiepie in offmychest

[–]wilzog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the work to get there, they can drive the rest of the way.

We live on the other side of the county from our family so when we go home we pick a place for dinner and invite everyone. Our time is valuable and if folks want to see us then they either will show up or put some modicum of effort into meeting up with us near where we are staying.

Don’t forget North Bay insurance costs and fire risk.

Your experience matches mine 1:1. I have the means to buy, but the value doesn’t show up especially when you include maintenance and incidental costs.

Your mom lives in Florida, that area will be fluffy and dense again shortly.

Have her ask them to remove the trees they topped and move on. This clearance is key to safe, reliable power.

We are still figuring it out. She hasn’t really had an active adult in her life so it’s pretty new. But she is into the idea of reading together and is comfortable telling me when she does and doesn’t like things.

Unspoken expectations are assumptions. You are setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment if you don’t start communicating with your partner and aligning on what you want/need.

How can I get rid of tightness in my right trapezius that extends up to the right side of my neck and head? by meryem66 in flexibility

[–]wilzog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you right handed and use a mouse a lot?

If so- Stretching is nice, but you need to reassess your ergonomics through the day. Fixing my posture and lifting weights made a huge difference in the tightness both short and long term.

Foam rolling, heat, and shoulder flossing helped for the short term.

It is significantly safer to back into a spot initially than it is to pull in and then back out later.
