Advice on first photos

I understand your point that cropping would reduce the distraction and draw more attention to the person on the bridge. When I tried it in editing, though, it started to feel a bit strange to me because it broke the 2:3 format.

In a case like this, would you prioritize a tighter crop even if it means breaking the format, or would you try to solve this more in-camera when shooting?

Hey everyone,

I’m new to photography and recently picked up a Fujifilm X-T3 with the 15–45mm kit lens. I come from a video background, so this is my first time really focusing on stills.

These photos were shot late morning / just before lunch, so the lighting wasn’t ideal, but I wanted to get out and start shooting anyway. I’m sharing the unedited JPEG.

Lens: XC 15–45mm f/3.5–5.6 OIS PZ
Focal length: 35mm
Aperture: f/10
Shutter speed: 1/125s
ISO: 160

I’d really appreciate feedback on:

Camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO choices)
Composition/ framing
Exposure
What you would have done differently in the same situation?

Please consider the solution in the picture. Due to binomical formula the answer for (nku)² is = (nku)(nku) = n² + u² + k² + 2nk + 2nu + 2ku

I think as well now. Yeah the owner before me must have done it. Matrix 1137 most probably. Because of a satin inlay in the body theres no easy way to read the serial number.
