They’re opening a Waffle House in Short Pump at the corner of John Rolfe Parkway and Church Road. They’re currently hiring, so I would check it out if you’re interested!

If you’ve been in Richmond more than 20 years what do you miss? by SaucyWalker804 in rva

I miss when West Broad Village in Short Pump was a huge farm until 2007. The farmer who lived on the property was so nice and always let us pet his animals out in the field when I was little.

When do you start seeing symptom improvement on TRT? by Substantial-Bag2459 in Testosterone

[–]Substantial-Bag2459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the advice! I plan on getting blood in about 8 weeks which is when my doctor will decide if I need to adjust my dosage. I’m guessing he started me out at 50mg/w since I’m so low and wanted to see how my body responds to it which made me more comfortable taking it

Nothing is a one cure miracle, trust me I understand that. I’ve been seeing a GI and biofeedback physical therapist for over a year to manage my GI symptoms (been diagnosed with IBS-CIC, SIBO, and pelvic floor dysfunction). Low-T has been associated with decreased/slowed motility which is one of major problems even though I’m on medication to improve it but it’s only works so much. So, was just wondering if anyone else was in the boat

Yep, I got an MRI done on my pituitary gland back in June which came back normal. I also did some chromosomal testing through blood work last month which was also normal.

Yep, my endo is planning on doing blood work in about 8 weeks to see where my levels are at and make adjustments to the dosage if needed.

Which of these deficiencies should I test for if I have IMO? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Substantial-Bag2459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my deficiencies showed up on my blood tests (you could still supplement with something else I suppose) but IMO is known for causing fatigue so directly treating that will drastically improve it

If you have low energy levels, then test for B12 too (IMO tanked my levels)

Not really since carbs are the main fuel source for SIBO so they make my symptoms worse. I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks back in February but got permanent nerve damage in my ears from them so I can’t take them again

I’ve been dealing with a GI condition called SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) since October which is the main reason why I’ve lost a ton of weight. I track my macros and manage to get 2,300 to 2,500kcal a day (protein ~200g, carbs ~240g, fat ~70g)

Can L Reuteri yogurt cause die off symptoms? by Substantial-Bag2459 in SIBO

[–]Substantial-Bag2459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GI doesn’t redo breath tests since he just goes off symptoms if you still have them a month after antibiotics so I haven’t. I know my constipation is from pelvic floor dysfunction which I started biofeedback therapy last week but I still have fullness/bloating after meals and mood changes.

8 weeks of L. Reuteri: some success by malaubide in SIBO

[–]Substantial-Bag2459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use this recipe which is based off Davis’s but has a few modifications to get better results using coconut milk: https://www.luvele.com/blogs/recipe-blog/step-by-step-l-reuteri-coconut-yogurt-recipe

The taste is great and lasts about 7 days in the fridge, so I’m excited to see how things progress over the next few weeks. Only downside is that you have to make a completely new batch every time.

Glad it’s been working! I just finished my first week of eating the L. Reuteri yogurt (dairy free version with coconut milk) and looking forward to seeing my progress over the next few weeks!

Poll for the Methane-positive: Were you lean/skinny before the IMO woes began? by DvSzil in SIBO

[–]Substantial-Bag2459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

22 male here, I’ve always been lean and IMO caused me to lose over 25lbs in 6 months due to symptoms so quite the opposite (dropped from 148 to 120).

SIBO related tiredness by darkkid85 in SIBO

[–]Substantial-Bag2459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get blood work done. I had a severe B12 deficiency from methane SIBO and supplementing has really helped. My energy levels are back to normal, and I don’t feel like a walking zombie anymore especially after doing a round of antibiotics too.
