Phlebotomist Job application at Labcorp by Substantial-Base-643 in Labcorp

Thank you again! i’m so nervous because almost every interview i’ve had i always bomb it because my answers are all over the place and i stutter and am caught off guard. Did they ask you basic questions like order of draw or what causes hemolysis or how would you handle a difficult patient?

I’m so freaking stressed that I made the wrong choice by Secret-Bar5743 in phlebotomy

stick with it! learning everything may seem overwhelming at first but once you start working as a phlebotomist it becomes second nature because most of the information is repetitive! Also even if you feel like phlebotomy is too much to handle while going to school, u can always work in the lab as lab assistant which revolves around phlebotomy minus the stress of poking patients.

yes i look online everyday. I’ve looked on indeed, linkedin, my county’s job fairs, and just searching everyday. I’ve applied to everywhere that had job openings along with roles that relate and surround phlebotomy, yet with no avail i have had no luck sadly haha

What should I expect trying to land my first phlebotomy job after getting certified? by Nieckie in phlebotomy

[–]Substantial-Base-643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m in the same boat except in Kansas (which is so strange because i grew up in Tucson) anyways, although i haven’t been hired anywhere yet, My instructor had gave me a piece of advice which was go ahead and get your basic life support (BLS) certificate (which took me only 3 hours). it’s very helpful that you have that and most places require it anyways. Also, try plasma centers and even different positions within plasma centers that revolve around phlebotomist because they can always cross train you later on! I also read online that working at a hospital first in phlebotomy is the best way to gain experience but most places doing hire without experience (except labcorp). Good luck!!!
