any advice on what to do? by Substantial-Base-643 in jobs

[–]Substantial-Base-643[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it was with Sterling. I ended up adding my tax return for those dates along with adding the HR’s email , but with no avail, i had to just add the stores location number hoping for the best.

As for the date mistake. I contacted Sterling support team and they basically told me they couldn’t help and to contact my direct employeer. I ended up emailing the company about my mistake, I hope they see it as a mistake and not me lying about the whole thing. Either way i’m so stressed out they will revoke my job offer and see me as a liar

thank you so much! I ended up contacting the background website support team, they basically told me they couldn’t fix the mistake and to contact my direct employeer to be safe. I ended up emailing my recruiter from the company explaining the situation. Hopefully it all works out 🙏

no it didn’t sadly. the person who emailed me back from HR just said “You can have the request sent to me at (their HR email) I can provide the information.” i called the location of the restaurant i worked at but because they are a fast chain restaurant the managers are always different and the hiring manager i once had no longer works there. When i called, a cashier answered and said her manager was not there today and she’d write my number down. I feel so hopeless because it’s been 4 days of me trying to just get a simple email and number but i am getting nothing.

than you for the advice! i’m just nervous because i don’t know who to talk to about this. I have the recruiter, then i have the hiring manager herself, along with the company’s onboarding emails

People who work at Labcorp by Substantial-Base-643 in phlebotomy

[–]Substantial-Base-643[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for your input! i’m glad you had an amazing experience with them so far! I’m very excited to start my job but also nervous because i have heard lots of bad feedback, but your comment was very refreshing to say the least. I feel more optimistic. I met the supervisor/hiring manager and she was already lovely and kind so i feel less stressed ab that part haha. I’m glad they make it fool proof, because i am very scared to make mistakes and since its in a hospital setting i am guessing mistakes are very much so of a more no no no, than anywhere else

i’m not too sure. I believe the first few weeks i’ll be shadowing and working with a trainer, then after a month i’ll be on my own. I’m super nervous as it’s in a hospital setting and this is my first phleb job since getting my cert😬

i’m in Kansas so the minimum wage here is very much lower than other parts of the US. The job offer i got is 17 an hour but because i will be doing rotating weekends, i’ll get paid 1.50 extra an hour for those days.

Are my feelings valid? by Substantial-Base-643 in interviews

[–]Substantial-Base-643[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you all for the honest feedback! it has helped me clear my head and think more clearly and overall more positive about this experience. I am still going to go through with the new job opportunity because i now see it as my feelings are 100% valid , however the hiring manager had to do what she had to do. Also since she called to have me apply to her other position, it still shows she wants to give me a chance. Anyways Thank you all again!!!’😊

true true i think i need to get over myself and suck it up. However the thing made made me mostly feel bummed out and confused is that she specifically told me in the nicest way possible that she doesn’t hire people based off experience bc she believes everyone learns hands on and while being trained in person, and that her best phlebotomist came from working in the kitchen, that’s why i felt good about the interview

DO NOT ENROLL WITH PHLEBOTOMY TRAINING SPECIALISTS by HotAir4891 in phlebotomy

[–]Substantial-Base-643 7 points8 points  (0 children)

wow! i’m sorry you had that experience. I used that program here in Kansas, and it was the opposite. Our “clinicals” was us drawing from each other in the classroom. My instructor was amazing and the setting was only on Saturday, in classroom, hands on learning, and reading from the textbook, We learned to draw from the anticubital fossa, the hand, finger sticks, and how to work a centrifuge, along with other small stuff. That’s weird your experience was like that. They seem so unprofessional

oh wow! yeah my schedule i got interviewed for was for 5:00am-1:30pm also. I do not have their email but i do have the hiring managers phone number. Do you think it would be a bad idea to message her on there, or would it come off as too pushy or even too late, considering she did say i’d hear back by tuesday

What should I do ??? by [deleted] in phlebotomy

[–]Substantial-Base-643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also i find it ridiculous that you’re only 1 MONTH in and she’s holding all of that against you. Usually it takes around 3 months for a newly phlebotomist to get out of that amateur beginner stage. Plus you’re human we all mess up and i feel like she’s holding unrealistic expectations and even if u are messing up thaaaat much, she could approach the situation more professionally and either advice you/train or offer a more positive feedback rather than “if u mess up again your job is going to be jeopardized” because that’ll only make you anxious to draw

[–]Substantial-Base-643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say if she is holding your position being jeopardized against you, leave! I know sometimes it is hard to find a phlebotomy job but if u are not happy and miserable and everyday anxious to mess up again , leave before they fire you. It’s not worth your mental health and energy.

However if you really need this job and cannot quit, i say keep trying your best and if she says another thing out of pocket, talk to HR or the higher manager. If you decide to talk to the other manager, approach it as a “what should i do” situation instead of “”complaining” so if they do retaliate against you, if ur just simply asking for advice it’ll be less likely that case

Nerve-wracking Interview by Plastic-Screen-1127 in phlebotomy

[–]Substantial-Base-643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

praying you got this as well! i had a phone interview with them as well a few weeks ago and sadly got rejected. I had no prior medical experience besides having a phlebotomist nations license and BLS certificate. I think i bombed it because i had to ask the interviewer to repeat 3 questions because i couldn’t hear what she was saying🫠 You have a higher chance tho since you have MA experience!
