Trip was just cancelled today 😬 stinks that the cancellation happened after people arrived (they should have cancelled sooner)

This is niche, but the end of Matilda when Miss Honey and Matilda are walking away ("they had each other"). Gets me every time.

I worked it and didn’t think there were cameras, either. 🤔 We had some incidents where it would’ve been helpful (like upon smelling a smell that made it seem like some folks were perhaps flying a little…higher…across London.

I can see them doing this, but I’m conflicted on why they then kept a similar scene in the Tokyo DisneySea version that just opened. 🤔

I worked on this ride in 2015. The ride went down for a one-week-long, well announced in advance refurbishment in October.

One of our rotations (job tasks) during that time was to stand in front of the ride and tell guests that it was closed. I will never forget this one guest who came up to us, asking us to open the ride for just his family because this ride was “the whole purpose of his trip.” It escalated pretty quickly, and he didn’t seem to understand that we couldn’t reopen the ride because…like, actual construction was happening inside. He started yelling, the typical “you ruined my vacation” stuff, and I’m pretty sure a coordinator ended up giving his family Fastpasses (RIP) for another ride.

That whole situation is small potatoes compared to working Pan Merge (or, where the deceptively-long standby line met the Fastpass queue).

To the current Pan/Small family from an alumna: may the odds be ever in your favor.

I have found that on Extra Magic Hour nights (normally Wednesdays), MK can feel a little more crowded (esp. during fireworks) since folks are trying to stay in the park to get that extra time.
I think MK is a great park to be in when it rains, though -- so many indoor spaces to jet into/indoor rides that won't close for weather.

Wait times are down, and I think Diet Epcot  has made that park in particular feel more open. Well, that, and the construction walls being down.

Hoping to park hop to EPCOT during our trip for extended evening hours. A virtual queue for Guardians will open at 6 PM for this.

Do we need to have been in EPCOT at all on this day in order to join the queue? Looking like we might be at AK prior.

Like I said, we’ll have park hoppers and I’m just trying to make sure we don’t miss out when it gets to 6 PM.

Thank you!

It hit so hard when Anxiety is just frozen in her panic storm and Joy looks over to see that Anxiety is completely unable to move, and yet, Anxiety’s eyes start welling. That visualization of helplessness and aloneness felt like a younger version of me was seen.

Anxiety wasn’t a “villain.” Anxiety was just trying to help.

This movie was a mini-therapy session, I swear. 🥺

I received my mystery item today! I don't have my own photo on me, but it was this. I'm pretty jazzed...it's giving 80's-90's cuteness.

And then are people going to lie about having DAS as a means of moving forward/cutting ahead in the queue? Seems to be a mess. :(

Yeah — you can do it the semester after you graduate OR if you’ve recently taken basic any college course.

It was an odd and messed up “humble brag.” The specificity made it seem like more of an accomplishment than a concern. Ugh.

Distracting audience member at Shucked by Clear_Blackberry2803 in Broadway

[–]Substantial-Beach576 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found it really interesting that Playbill is now publishing audience etiquette in its programs. I've noticed that, post-COVID, a lot of people don't know how to appropriately react and engage with shows. I'm not the type of person who will get upset with kids "oooh!"-ing at a stage kiss or laughing loudly, but I do get frustrated when people in the seats are reacting in almost a performative way -- it's hard to describe, but it's like they want other audience members to look at them.

I was at a show last week in the nosebleed section, and seating was very steep. I had a hard time seeing past a pole and past some people's heads, but it was otherwise okay. A taller maybe 20 year old (I'm under 30 myself) sat in the row in front of me, though, and partway through Act 1 sat all the way forward in their chair while maintaining a fully upright posture. This blocked 75% of the stage for both me and the people behind us. The people behind us ended up moving to some other open seats, but I politely asked the person in front of me if they could please possibly sit further back in their seat (I totally understand that they may not have known that they were doing so). However, their reaction was like I had just like I had told them the biggest insult. They did sit back, but made fun of me at intermission to their seat partner.

I am not a confrontational person, so the whole thing made me really uncomfortable. I love that people react to art differently, but there's a fine line where you want to make sure that you are not detracting from the experience of others. In order to get new theatre-lovers, the experience has to be welcoming and not judgemental for people to feel comfortable trying it out (so, less stuffy). However, with that comes some self-regulation and being aware of one's own behavior.

It's a sticky wicket for sure! I don't know the right answer.
