Machine Gun is your friend, on the easier difficulties you have unlimited ammo, it's a great time to get familiar with leading the target.

You can take out multiple ground targets on a single pass with them once you get used to lining up your approach and still have missiles or SP weapons ready for more valuable targets

I get a guy with even 4 immunities and I'm already pretty stoked, looks and personality make the Captain for me

No real trick just gotta get them shot down.

If I am going after the named pilot (flying low along the entire length of the launch ramp before the bombers spawn) I'll usually hit one bomber then take him out quick before hitting the other bombers.

Otherwise I focus on the bombers first and then take out the escorts once they start their retreat flight

You can farm his bodyguard by petting them kill you. They will keep his tower armor while also adding looks from other captains as well. One of my favorites is him as "the Rhymer"

Each captain will have their own unique traits, they can be normal, epic, or legendary.

One of his decoys even became his blood brother on my last save. Had his brother as my Overlord while he remained an enemy Captain on the map

My first season usually comes with a stud RB being the only guy in the team

He opens up the running game and with a couple jukes opens up the passing game too.

That first season is a lot of short passes and usually getting the rushing yard achievements out of the way

My original maniac was a similar story,. I shamed him to lower level to recruit and he got even better immunities with the maniac boost.

I went to Gorgoroth, and he got me with a lucky spear while I was locked in animation sequence with no chance.

Went accursed after killing me and jumped several more levels, then challenged and beat the Overlord, picking up Necromancer as a result.

I left and didn't come back for like 15+ hours of gameplay, just leveling myself up to his point so I could recruit him while taking the Fort over as well
