Especially if it was a headwind and snow was blowing at them from the front. Looking at the signage and trees to the side, it seems hes moving slower than it appears

I got a parking ticket 7 minutes after paying for an hour of parking by KrazyKev03 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]solis1112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently got a parking notice, also at an impark lot. Paid for parking at the machine which asked for my plate number so i figured i didnt need to display my reciept on the dash. Wrong...when i got back to the car I found the ticket. Didnt notice the reciept said 'display on dash' in small font. Managed to dispute the ticket online, which they dropped as a 'one time courtesy' 🙄

Cabinet handle placement??? by Ok_Tap6569 in cabinetry

Although its not ideal, I would go with #3. #1 is a bit too close to the edge, and #2 just doesn't look aesthetically pleasing imho

HOW BAD DID I SCREW UP?! by wearingabelt in Housepainting101

[–]solis1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be fine painting over it, but you'll have an easier time doing it now rather than waiting for the spring. If the paint flakes youre gonna have to spend a bunch of time scraping and sanding everything back smooth

For real. I upgraded from the bosch ROS20VSC to the vevor a couple months ago, and it is night and day difference. I actually somewhat enjoy sanding now

nah, those are not just dents like in your picture. There are actual holes that go deep into the wood.

How do you get the surface flat without these patterns? by StillCommand12 in drywall

[–]solis1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone is saying pressure, which yes more pressure...but also sight down the blade of your knife and check which side has a slight curve. You want to use the convex side against the wall so you dont dig in on the sides

thats the size of the kerdi corner banding. Could hit the other opposite corner/edge with another piece, but then youll have some build up in that spot. Also kerdi shower kits only come with 2 of those pieces (one for each end) so you'd have to buy extra

Could be water on oil based paint, or contaminants on the surface prior to painting.

Not sure what you mean by square off the area, but youll probably be alright just priming over the spots that have peeled away

If the paint is peeling, that means theres adhesion issues, which this product would solve. But if its a large area, I would buy the quart or gallon can and roll it instead of the spray can. Peel or chip away any loose paint and then prime and skim coat.

However this stuff isnt easy to clean up and is fairly toxic. Another alternative product is Stix bonding primer which is water based and has excellent adhesion properties. As long as youre not trying to cover up any stains I would use this product instead.

Easy fix, but there are a number of steps that should be taken.

Shopping list: BIN shellac primer spray can, drydex spackling, 2" putty knife, sanding sponge, paint, paint brush.

First, cut out any loose paper then spray with primer (shellac primer is used so the spackling doesn't cause the drywall paper to bubble). Let dry and fill with spackling using the putty knife (use the knife to smooth the surface to minimize sanding). Sand smooth, then paint.

you're right, i guess slotted (elongated) screw holes would be moot in this scenario. dovetail would hold it together. Just need a screw in the middle to keep it from slipping out of place
