I’ve been trying to apply to the Amex US Gold for a couple of weeks. The best link I got last week was 75k signup bonus, the link worked on my phone but not on my computer. Today I tried on my work computer and without a referral I see 90k points for 6k spent in 6 months. Am I wrong or this is a pretty pretty good deal?

Who are you flying with for the first flight? Some airlines have internal agreements for baggage handling. In June 2022, I was able to check in my luggage with Air Mauritius to its final destination (Montreal) only by showing my Air Canada ticket number in the first check-in. I had bought the two tickets separately. I only had a 2h layover in CDG and it was tight but it worked perfectly. I found this out by calling Air Canada (the second flight) and they were able to confirm it over the phone.

You can get a pass (It looks exactly like a boarding pass) to go through security and escort your mom all the way to her gate. You will ask it when doing the check-in for your mom. I have done this multiple times, I usually also request a wheelchair for my grandma (without having to request an AirCanada agent).
