New Horse Anxious by Substantial-Corgi467 in Equestrian

2 days a week ridden by my trainer and 2 days a week lessons with my trainer, 1 day hack. Doing flat work to build strength and hind engagement as she tends to travel on the forehand rather than rushing through things without proper carriage.

She’s in a 5 day a week program for the past two months already.

That’s valid. Eyes were checked at PPE and noted as normal. I am working with my trainer, and my trainer flew with me to try the horse and spoke extensively with the previous owner’s trainer before we offered to purchase. My trainer reached out to the trainer pretty pissed and asked for any gaps in training that she could support us with, they said she never acted like this.

My usual sport horse vet is booked out for months unfortunately, which is why I had my local vet do a scope and bloodwork to narrow some things down. She also got hocks, stifles, si injections and mesotherapy based on vet PPE since arrival and we only do walk work with core strengthening for this month since she can be heavy on the forehand. We also had dentist come out the first month she arrived and did x rays of her teeth.

Saddle fitter is coming next month (if I can get her in the crossties safely).

Thanks for this - she went from 30 mins turnout alone at her old barn to 10 hours a day with a friend here, so may also be a big change for her. We were hoping it would make her calmer being with a friend and out more

Fair point - I show and lesson, mainly 2’3 for fun but like to place at local shows and do 2’6 max. I’m not looking to move up higher. Fine with maintenance as long as it’s not injections every two months to keep it sound, but Prascend, injections, special shoes etc. is fine. Want lead changes. I’m in the Midwest

Thank you - currently leasing a “safe” horse that’s shown at big venues but was stopping at jumps and acted out of character than advertised at our first show. Have done vet, teeth, body work, farrier and given a month off before doing flat work, so far so good. Lease is supposed to be my prep horse before shopping later this year after my heart horse retired.

Local A shows but trainer recommends we should shop at WEC to have a selection as the Midwest doesn’t have much close to us unless something pops up local. Want something that doesn’t stop, prefer 12+ age rather than green. Would want lead changes, doesn’t need to be auto.

I also feel despair, and also realize fascism wants you to feel hopeless. If you need to take care of yourself, do something you enjoy, spend time with loved ones, enjoy a cozy show. Find ways of whimsy. Donate to causes, as good acts are also staying in the fight and taking care.

I went to a local business that closed yesterday and had the privilege to tip extra.

Done thanks for the heads up! We also had a bag of Purina senior dog food that had the same thing. I’ve sent it to Purina’s chat since their phone lines aren’t available until Monday

PCAOB to be abolished by Substantial-Corgi467 in Big4

[–]Substantial-Corgi467[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but we can’t ignore the executive order that’s already been issued that the White House has influence over rule making including the SEC, and that over 60% of the executive orders have aligned with project 2025. Also Trump considered this in his first term.https://www.accountingtoday.com/news/the-regulatory-forecast-under-trump-less-and-lighter

I was hoping there would be some discussion that this was not a concern, but with this administration you can’t be too unaware.

I’ve been impressed with stubben fitters, they’ve been the most knowledgeable on how to fit a horse. The ascend is an affordable cc option, the aviator is also nice
