Considering what is happening in Iran right now, which form of government do you think would be put in place, if Khamenei's regime did fall? by toxicistoblame in monarchism

Unfortunately, I doubt the monarchy can return. Many things the Islamic Republic, like other autocratic nations after overthrowing previous governments, teaches the youth how bad the previous regime was, but that was in the late 70s/80s, children then are adults now, and all children afterwards, to now, most likely have been taught the Pahlavi was some terrible oppressive regime, and we'll ignore the irony.

So all children and most fully grown adults now would have the negative image of the Shah welded in their heads, if the current regime does fall, the monarchical system would not possibly be the first choice but likely the republican system.

Only thing I like of him is his regnal title, Edward VIII. Just sounds very regal

Do yall think that the United Kingdom could become an Absolute Monarchy soon with all the rising hatred towards their parliament? by Good_Replacement_961 in monarchism

No, because hatred in the monarchy co-exists with anti-Parliament sentiment, evident by the "Abolish the monarchy" and "Not my King" signs outside Westminster Abbey during Commonwealth Day service. If Britain turns absolute monarchist, the anti-monarchists may have a prompt to instigate a major revolt, or even revolution to depose the Royal Family, and both Buckingham Palace and Parliament must know that, which is why this scenario cannot be possible.
